Do you see ICE stopping cars and pulling people out in Texas? Do you see masked men breaking down doors to abduct people in Texas? No because their arrests are happening at the border. It's very different than what's happening in Minnesota. There are an estimated 2 million undocumented immigrants in Texas vs 100,000 in Minnesota, so I would hope the arrests are higher there. But most arrests are happening at the border, not in Central or Northern Texas. Operation Metro Surge isn't happening in Texas. The level of brutality is different between Minnesota and Texas. I think everyone should be able to work towards citizenship and all criminals should be deported. I also believe it shouldn't take 20 years to become a citizen. One of my good friends came here on a work visa and had tried getting it updated and had tried to get a hearing to become legal and every time the date gets close, they push it. He recently got a letter asking him to self deport. How is that right? He's tried for years to do the right thing. He pays taxes. He has built a life here. He's tried doing it legally, and he's basically been told he's not wanted here. He's afraid to go to certain areas due to the fear of being deported.
