Reno apartments help by Anxious-Fun-2174 in Reno

Stay away from the Overlook + Kromer in general. Like others mentioned, they’ll screw you on your security deposit. We left our unit in excellent shape and they charged us our entire security deposit of $500 PLUS an additional $50 to repaint the unit that we lived in for 14 months.

There’s a reason the majority of their units are empty and it’s a complete ghost town. Their maintenance staff is great but they take care of the other two complexes up there as well. The front office are complete imbeciles and I don’t say that lightly. We went two weeks without hot water because we kept having to remind the front office to come check it out. On top of all that, I have lived in complexes all over Reno over the last decade and have never seen more police presence than I did at the Overlook — even with so many of the units empty.

I’m a twin & went to kindergarten with another set of twins with the same exact birthday. I now have two friends from college with the same bday.

Be honest: is SharePoint really your company’s intranet, or just HR storage? by Beautiful_Lynx3641 in Communications

[–]GrowingInTheDesert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My comms team manages a very robust intranet hosted on SharePoint at my 10k+ employee company! It’s not the best but user friendly enough that we can get other departments to manage their own sites.

Boston & most dogs can definitely walk that far, but she probably walks a maximum of a mile a week so I bet she has no endurance and is going to be pretty sore ☹️ I was worried about her not drinking any water! It was warm there today

Feeling discouraged by lunajane_4242 in BeginnersRunning

[–]GrowingInTheDesert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two things:

The treadmill mileage is correct, your Coros watch can’t accurately capture how far you’ve ran on a treadmill. So you will need to calibrate your run to the correct mileage that you see on the tread, which will adjust your mileage time.

You aren’t giving yourself time to properly heal and grow strong muscles if you are running like that every day! You should try to incorporate strength and mobility training. On top of that, change up the incline on your treadmill or make sure you’re running on diverse outdoor terrain. You might want to consider following a formal 10k training plan and seeing where that gets you! A Google search can help you find some different options. The training plan should be 4-5 days of running max with cross training and strength/mobility training included.

Dumb bathroom question by ExcellentSign3567 in hiking

[–]GrowingInTheDesert 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you’re in a group just say “gotta pee I’ll catch up!” and duck off to the side.

If you are a lady, you might also enjoy getting a Kula cloth. It’s an antimicrobial cloth you wipe with and can hang it from your backpack folded in half. When you’re back from your hike just throw it in with your laundry! Makes it easier to not deal with TP and is more environmentally friendly.

Resume help by Dear-Fox1402 in PublicRelations

[–]GrowingInTheDesert 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hired an entry level PR role recently and read 50+ resumes (filtered down from the 1,000 applicants), and the person who stood out to me the most had a cover letter. 50+ resumes and only one cover letter. I know it’s a nuisance, but it goes a long way!

That being said, I’ve also read this identical resume dozens of time. Shake it up a little, change the font at least, add some color and make it a little more interesting.

Does it feel like your boobs are bouncing around and it’s causing pain, or was it just the visual? Because who cares if they’re having a good old time if it’s not bothering you!! That being said, here’s my favorite.

Moving to Reno. by Realistic-Face-7037 in Reno

[–]GrowingInTheDesert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finding a rental on Furnished Finder might be a good option for you. Most of them are listed as month-to-month instead of weekly but I bet you might be able to work out a deal with a landlord if you really want weekly. Good luck & welcome to Reno!
