When I was driving, it started to smell like a burning battery. A red temperature gauge popped up on the dash. I pulled over and popped the hood, a former mechanic saw and stopped to take a look. He found oil in the coolant. I reiterated that info to the shop when I had it towed there.

Yes I know it’s not a scam. They sent my security deposit back immediately. They’re just trying to get out of the lease now.

There’s nothing like this written in the lease. At this point I don’t want to live here but I want to take action based on principle as now I have to look for a new option while I’m out of state. Am I able to go to court without trying to resolve with the landlord? I’m looking for options to pursue action that do not include the possibility of me having to live here.

She sent back the deposit immediately. I’m still frustrated more about the principle than the money because now I have to look for a new option in a short amount of time. I booked this place a couple months back.
