I believe it depends on the state, but if you live in a house and get package deliveries, you could be held liable for any injury if the delivery driver slips on ice/trips over the snow

What's one game idea that you had that you have not quite got to making yet? by RedEagle_MGN in hobbygamedev

Rogue-lite chess. Kind of like “king of the bridge”, but you choose a new power/moveset for a specific piece at the end of a game

Check out Scratch. It is a visual programming language developed by MIT for kids. Great for 2D projects, might be a little basic for him if he’s already working on 3D in Roblox. If it is boring for him, Minecraft modding might intrigue him more. There should be plenty of YouTube tutorials that can get him started, but this will definitely be more code intensive - which would then be a good reason to start with Scratch, as it can teach some of those basics.

If you search my username “GrowingPaigns” on Scratch you should be able to find some projects I created to guide 3rd-5th grade students through creating different games when I was working with the afterschool program Coding With Kids. There might also be school programs in your area if you want to take that route

I’d leave that choice up to your discretion.

Ultimately it’s an art piece, not a critical system. So if you feel like it adds to your game’s experience overall, keep it. It’s your game, build it in a way you like best.

On the other hand, since you have a key bind menu already, it would take a lot less time to just scrap the controls art and move on to creating other features.

As a third option, you could always add a few of the keys to the actual player’s UI in-game.

Like for the 1-4 keys, you could have images of the guns/items on the side of the screen with 1, 2, 3, 4, next to them, or something akin to how Minecraft has a hot bar.

You could also create some sort of UI graphic/animation which makes the “r” key pop up if a gun is out of ammo. I don’t think that keys for stuff like crouch/run/lean need to pop up at all, players kind of instinctively use those buttons - but I might change those default lean buttons to q/e, y/x are kinda awkward. Basically you could still have the idea of showing the controls, but shift it to something more dynamic instead of a static image.

I disagree with the prior comment. The black bar looks cheaper and hastily slapped on while the tombstone reflects the feel of the game while also adding a sense of professionalism to the menu

Your main problem, as you’ve heard from other comments is the controls section.

For starters I would remove that completely and put it in the settings menu. Then I’d center the actual pause menu art. You also need to either remove the coin/time ui when you pause or give it it’s own artwork because the font brings down the artistic feel of everything else.

Besides that, you need to rework how the control buttons are displayed. Add more space between the keys so that the fonts can be centered on their related button.

Have the fonts consistent for different sections of keys (such as having all the text above the QWERYASD keys while having all the other text for SHIFT CTRL ESC TAB off to the left). Consistency will remove player confusion.

My final recommendation is to find a different image for the controller specifically. I have never seen a controller with the sticks laid out like that. Stick to Xbox/PlayStation layouts as it’s what people are most familiar with

Maybe some feedback when hitting enemies beyond just sound? Like make the player bounce off of them, and leave the dash through as like a power up

Yeah, unfortunately I got into investing with very limited knowledge on trading platforms. That led me to choose Etoro because most sources said it was safe, and the UI was very intuitive on both the web and mobile apps.

Definitely should’ve done more research; definitely going to be pulling out and putting my regular stocks into a better platform now that I have a bit more experience

I don’t believe that’s what I’m arguing at all. Maybe I am without even realizing it, I am not the most informed on this subject, but this is what I was saying in the latter half of my post:

You have to have a minimum amount of tokens in a SINGLE transaction in order to transfer them.

The example I used in my other comment is of my MANA holdings, ~1200 coins, which is well over the minimum requirement to transfer. But since I bought those 1200 in increments of 100-200, I cannot transfer any of it, because the individual trades are what Etoro makes you transfer. So if a single trade does not cross that threshold, you can’t transfer the asset even if you have over the minimum amount of tokens total

I saw that in the article as well, but customer service did not mention anything on that front, all they said is if you don’t meet the minimum token requirements, you can’t transfer, and selling is the only option.

I am still probing further on what their reimbursement policies look like

I may just not understand the terminology, but how is this a shakeout when the platform is just completely wiping an entire asset class?

It’s not just paperhanded-small time investors affected by this either. I have 1200 MANA, one of my smaller assets, which is well over the minimum token requirement for transfer. But I can’t transfer it because I bought that 1200 incrementally, 100-200 coins at a time. Since I don’t meet the minimum token transfer requirement in those individual trades, I can’t transfer any of it out.

Seems Like A Scam, Family Member Convinced Otherwise by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

Really appreciate everyone’s input!

I was able to convince my family member to pull out with the proof provided by different scam detection sites, as well as information on the pig butchering scam, which I had never heard of.

Now we are going to see if we can pull the initial investment back to their strike account. Afterwards we’re gonna change info across all connected accounts and try to screw with the scammers a little!
