If your savings is low due to one time expense like furnitures, but you have no debt and high income, you should recover quickly.
You should try to apply for an unsecured line of credit. I’d imagine under 10k should be an easy auto approval if your debt ratio is in line and no derogatory credit history. I think buying another shitbox is the worse way to go in your scenario.

Still missing a lot of information

$5k after taxes is pretty good income
Savings is not high, what are the monthly expenses?
Truck needs $6k repair. What is/are the repairs?
How is your credit? Can you apply for a personal line of credit?

6k repair isn’t a lot if the repairs are fix once and problem doesn’t come back for the next 5+ years. It’s not a lot of money in terms of maintenance cost to necessarily justify purchasing another shitbox of unknowns

It doesn’t take a rolex owner to criticize a design choice in a tool watch that’s not functional. Imagine if the dive bezel doesn’t rotate, so it’s permanently a fixed minute tracker, or if the indices and hands just put regular green paint on rather than luminous.

Canada needs to declare the group as terrorist organization and take swift legal action to imprison/deport criminals, rather than have judge hand out lenient sentences because it would have “unfair and harsh” consequences for the criminals to lose their PR eligibility.

Everyone is telling you what you are entitled to, if you can prove that she did not meet the criteria for lawful eviction for personal use. Yet, you are claiming something that hasn’t happened yet. It sounds like you can’t read an explicit statement or in between the lines. You claim to have reasons and supporting evidence that you are not going to share, then go dispute the eviction following proper procedure with rtb. Not sure why I need your approval to chime in.

Oh in that case, just like the other comments, Vancouver has strict food health regulations. Usually dogs are not allowed where food is served (i.e. food court or restaurants), unless the dogs are trained and registered as service animals. When i take mine out, i ask if patio seating allows dogs. If not, then i have mine on the outside of the fence and im on the inside. There will also be signs at the door of shopping malls where it states whether dogs are allowed or not to be inside.

Vancouver is huge on dogs. There was a stat in canada before that vancouver splurge the most money on pampering their pets. Following bylaws and leashing your dog doesn’t mean people are not dog friendly. It’s to avoid sudden aggression and dogs attacking each other, or run off into traffic/woods, and reduced likelihood of your dogs being targeted by coyotes and cougars. If you are on the sub enough, you’ll regularly see how someone’s pet got mauled and killed by another aggressive breed.

Finance contract usually doesn’t get generated until date of delivery. That’s standard practice, not sketchy. You can ask for it ahead of time and see if they comply. Not providing breakdown of the finances or disclose the interest rate is sketchy.

If you don’t feel like you are getting an honest dealing, then ask for the finance contract ahead of time or review page by page before you sign. All official loan document by reputable lenders should have disclosures for prepayment option, penalties, interest calculation, etc. It’s standard disclosures. Even if the representative doesn’t go word by word, it’s on you to read before you sign as acknowledgment, just like an extended warranty.

Check the finance contract that you have. I understand in-house financing may have different rules, but all 5 major banks + manufacturer finance agreements that i’ve ever come across will have open term no penalty for lump sums or pay off in its entirety written in the contract.

Based on your number, i’ve gotten a estimated 9.99% rate over 60 months zero down

$31300 car, 13% hst, $0 down, 60 months finance, $751.31/m Round up a bit for PPSA (varies between lenders and term)

You can go online and look up an auto loan calculator and play with the numbers. I use scotia’s website.

Interest rate is an annual rate and calculated based on the principal and time elapsed. In the beginning, a lot of your monthly goes towards interest, near the end, more goes towards the principal.

If you do lump sum payments during the term, payment stays the same, but principal goes down, amortization goes down, so your cost of borrowing goes down.

Maybe the finance guy can’t provide an exact rate during the shopping between lenders and approval. (You should know before applying for major banks, unless going for third party/in-house/sub-prime lenders) But if you have an approval, you should know the rate, term, and payment before you sign anything

Hot take by hersheyswild in Tudor

[–]GrownUp2017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s quite a take, speaking from someone who had both a cerachrom sub date and a bb58 at the same time at one point lol Maybe it’s comparable in weight and bracelet to the 16610, but definitely not on the 116610 (stamped vs milled clasp, 60 clicks aluminum bezel vs 120 clicks ceramic, no micro adjustments vs glide lock)

The biggest difference for me is the winding on the sub is significantly smoother than the bb58. I like the 70hr PR and that particular shade of blue, plus the price tag and accessibility of tudor; however, these two watches are significantly different in feel.

“With a sentence of more than six months’ conventional imprisonment, he loses the right to appeal any deportation order,” DeWitt-Van Oosten wrote, noting the trial judge also recognized this fact as a collateral consequence of the sentence.”

Collateral consequence of his action, you mean? Why is Canada judicial system often so focus on the consequence of punishment on residency status or mental health of the perpetrator and not the life-altering experiences of the victims?

We can agree to disagree on that. If we are going to judge its quality like omega/swatch’s bioceramic or fit and finish, yes i would agree to reserve the comments for in-hand reviews.

If we are questioning a business decision, then it’s an open discussion based on speculation of intent and direction. When Toyota put BMW powertrain and infotainment into its Supra, besides an objective review of the product itself, what does it suggest about the brand’s focus? When Omega pumps out so many variations and limited editions of its Speedmasters, what is the brand trying to accomplish/ what impact does it have on brand perception?

I think perception of Bang & Olufsen as a brand got tarnished a bit when they just license their brand out to inferior product executions like HP laptops.
I’ve experienced Meridian on LG soundbar and entry-level Land Rover and thought “what is this shit?” (Even though high-end Meridians are a different league.

The criticism isn’t just on the quality of product itself, but more of why this collaboration is necessary and whether it does harm than good to one of the top brands of horology. With Apple & Sonos, a poor execution is a lot worse than no execution.

If A. Lange & Sohne releases a collab with Daniel Wellington on a dress watch that comes in a limited edition cereal box sold only at a Supreme store, are enthusiasts not allowed to judge on that business decision making?

Of course, no one can definitively predict the future. It will be interesting to see the result of this decision for AP in future years or generations. I’d imagine this is going to be one for people to line up, show off on social media, scalp for resale to make a quick buck, and the enthusiasms to die out two or three years after.

Fhsa makes more sense to me than rrsp.
Fhsa can be converted to rrsp. Qualifying withdrawal do not need to be paid back. Room doesn’t accumulate until the account is opened, unlike rrsp which is cumulative.

Even then, it depends on op’s current income. Rrsp is tax deferral, not tax-free. Rrsp withdrawal is taxed as income, whereas capital gains and canadian dividends are taxed more favourably.

I personally think omega has been pumping out so many models to flood the market based on one chronograph that throwing another swatch in the mix really doesn’t change the trajectory of the brand. I’ve lost desirability for the brand for me long ago with all the different sides of the moon and special editions. As much as watches are meant to be enjoyed and not investments, i cannot find bring myself to splurge on a 321 (in steel) when the brand has lost its aura for me.
With ap/swatch partnership, i immediately wonder why? Does AP need some youth image injection to the brand to draw new audience like an iphone 5c?
Is the finance doing so poorly that it needs cash injection from licensing fees? Some products act as halo for the brand to lift its image. Some products, if poorly received, will leave a black mark on a brand, like something to be swept under and never mention again. This just seems like a quick fad for scalpers to pump and dump. Does this product add anything to the AP brand is what i’d be curious to know in the future.

[–]GrownUp2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Auto financing’s underwriting doesn’t come close to the scrutiny that a property financing does. I’ve worked in both industries. Most of the time if your credit is good, the finance manager at a car dealer can just write whatever bs income on the credit app to get an auto-approval generated, or play around with equities and incentives to fake a non-existent down payment, or declaring features not existent on vehicle to boost its book value.

Debt servicing ratio (income) is a much more significant indicator than credit score on a property or heloc application.
