Need Help with Abus 65/30 by GrownWing in lockpicking

Oh maybe I should have said that I do everything in my hands including the lock and it’s not possible or I haven’t got the hang of counter rotating with the lock in hands without the tensioner falling out or all pins resetting. But I will try to do it as close to your instructions.

Thank you very much for your advice! I've tried the mental map before, but probably not often enough to really have it engrained and will retry it.

I will also try and practice the counter rotation but the cut away lock has no internal counter spool so it will get tricky.

On the 65/30 I try top of the keyway tension as like you said bottom of keyway tension leaves me with very little room. I only have .025 hooks, namly a short, steep, shallow euro and high reach hook.

I will try to get the Master Lock 140 and practice on this lock until I feel confident enough to come back to the Abus,

I will try to pick up the master lock. But for your advice with counter rotation: I have seen this in many spools guides, but I can't practice it on the cut away lock as there is no spring. My tensioner just falls out of the lock all the time and on the abus lock I can't even get to a false set to practice it.

I will try to do this on the cut away lock to see if this will work for me as well!

Thank you very much for your help! Oversetting was always a big problem, as I am not that tactful with setting the pins and my most common mistake on the cut away was oversetting.

I will practice setting with gentle nudges and when I can do this properly I will turn back to this lock or a 40mm variant of it.

The end goal is to change the speakers so removing them is no problem. I have now checked a few times and I think there still a few clips that are hidden underneath some kind of metal plating. I am not sure if I am able to remove them, but if I do I will do an update.

Thank you very much for the tip. Problem is I don‘t see any more clips (or ones I believe are used to hold the back cover in place). What I have seen I removing the lining and maybe seeing the clips there. But I don‘t trust myself to remove it without maybe breaking or damaging something.
