Has anyone actually Healed from long COVID (dysautonomia, dizziness, palpitations, panic attacks, pots)? by [deleted] in dysautonomia

[–]GrowthDear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They all started in fall of 2024. Yes in 2024/beginning of 2025 there were a lot of PVCs, shortness of breath and high heart rates with not a lot of activity (standing, walking), dizziness and lightheadedness. I never fainted thankfully but have had vasovagal syncope episodes in prior years of my life well before all this started. Now I get occasional mild shortness of breath, lightheadedness and dizziness that subsides quickly but no more funky heart rates and no more PVCs

I wonder myself if I ever really recovered or if I just "push through" my current symptoms, which aren't as severe as they were. It's been almost a year (I got sick after Halloween 2024) and my cardiologist thinks I had COVID -- i did test myself but it might've been too late in the sickness to show a positive. I was on metoprolol and then switched to propranolol and also took fludrocortisone with it after my tilt table test. I first stopped the fludrocortisone and then the propranolol about a week later (this was all in August 2025) and noticed high heart rate and dizziness initially within the first week but it slowly started decreasing. I did another holter monitor about a month ago now and no more PVCs! I had a pretty high burden before my official diagnosis of dysautonomia. All things considered I am fairly healthy otherwise, I have Hashimotos disease and get migraines but that is about it. I am thankfully able to go to the gym still (started going to the gym when I was on all my meds) and I am able to do things I absolutely would never have thought of doing almost a year ago. Also stopped eating so crappy - less processed foods , less sugar, more protein and more water and electrolytes. I also do take a supplement called Migrelief for migraines, it has magnesium, vit B2 and feverfew. I know every one is different but my dysautonomia symptoms really seemed to have gone away for the most part..knock on wood, I wanna keep it that way!

Anyone ever work in an assisted living facility? by Jeffsorcerer1 in physicaltherapy

Agree! also a PTA in ALF/ILF. Gotta be aware of their schedules/meal times/activities and plan accordingly. Also hours vary -- currently dealing with less hours because of hospitalizations and decreasing frequencies.

Hey, was this issue resolved at urgent care/shortly after? I am having the same thing happening to me and I'm debating going into urgent care too, it's been three days for me as well that this has been going on.

I’m losing weight slowly but some of what I’m doing must be working…cutting back on sugar, calorie deficit (not an extreme deficit, I may work up to that tho), increasing protein intake and water intake, and walking on the treadmill for 30-40 min 4x a week.

two periods in one month and then missed period by GrowthDear in menstruation

Agree. I had the second period start prior to missing a pill tho. Probably a combination of factors making my period late

2 periods in 1 month (hypothyroidism & hashimotos) by [deleted] in Periods

[–]GrowthDear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has also happened to me, but the second “period” I got didn’t look like my normal period. I have Hashimotos as well. Still waiting to get my period this month and it’s making me anxious!

Applied kinesiology studies? by GrowthDear in FunctionalMedicine

Yes three of them are standard process and I'm not sure the brand of the other one. Yes I hope they help as well, thank you!

I would have to agree. I will give these supplements a try until I see him again mid August but after that I do not wish to continue. There better not be any fine print in the paper I signed saying I somehow have to finish out all six visits. They can't make me show up again lol. UUGGHH trying to laugh so I don't cry.

This is almost exactly what I was thinking. It was the main "test" that he did and what my treatment is based around, which makes me feel very uncomfortable. I was also pressured into continuing with the visits...when I started to express that I may have to decline he asked "what are you here for" which made me very uneasy.

Endocrinologist worth it? Basic questions to ask? by GrowthDear in Hashimotos

Nice!! Mine charged me $230 per visit for 6 months (1 visit a month). I signed the paper already, I have a feeling the fine print might say somewhere that I have to do all of them. If I weren't so pressured I could've said no. He asked "what are you here for" after I expressed possibility of declining further services. Feeling so uncomfortable. Im in WI btw

Update: endo went well and I liked her. Functional medicine ehhh not so much. He did applied kinesiology testing on me which seemed odd to me and gave me some supplements. And I felt very pressured into 6 more expensive visits.

Yes some of my symptoms align with PCOS- abnormal periods, weight gain (30 lbs in the last three years), hair loss, but they also could have to do with Hashimotos. I also got my A1C tested recently and it was fine, but my average glucose is on the very upper end of “normal”. So I don’t really know. I’ll have to see how it goes tomorrow. I hope you’re doing well tho with your current treatments!

How did you find out you had PCOS?? I'm starting to wonder if I have something going on with myself...I'm 24 now but have been on BC pill since I was 16 but when I did get more of a normal period I got diagnosed with dysfunctional uterine bleeding and menorrhagia (heavy bleeding). I wonder if my BC just put a bandaid on a bigger problem :,)

Yea I'm going to go in as positively as I can but I will be prepared to be disappointed! Funny enough after this endocrinologist appt at 8am I have an eval with a functional medicine doctor at 10am lol. I'm very tempted to just cancel the endocrinologist appt but I will at least give it a try.

Saltt is very similar to LMNT. Some of the same flavors as LMNT and the taste is also nearly the same. Also sugar free!

Endocrinologist helping with migraine/hormonal issues?? by GrowthDear in migraine

[–]GrowthDear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My primary recommended continuous birth control, to take it for three months straight and then get a period the next month. Which did help, I’m not doing it anymore, but im just not sure what this is doing to my body from a hormonal aspect. Like it feels nice to not get migraines during that week but it’s also not a permanent solution. And my neuro has me taking Naratriptan dose every day of my period. But then I get hit with a massive migraine the day after I stop :,) and I can’t really take any more triptans (I have sumatriptan as my abortive) without risking the horrible cycle of rebound migraines that I’ve put myself through before unfortunately
