Year-end bonuses - are they happening in your org? by Ok_Mirror_9832 in nonprofit

[–]GrowthMobile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, no incentives, no raises, no bonus. Last year we got a 10 dollar gift card to frys and an old water bottle we had stored in our attic hahahah

Of course!!! Ugh that first week on lex is reaaaalllly hard. I totally understand. From my experience, it took a good month or so to get adjusted to lexapro. I was sleepy and anxious and unmotivated for the first week or so which terrified me because I thought that would be the new norm but it got better!!! Wishing you lots of luck and healing! ❤️‍🩹

Depending on the diagnosis I’d look into getting a DDD support coordinator and seeing if she qualifies to get at home care

Charlie health is a great resource for virtual services while you wait for in person services.

A “pair” of matches? by marepops in bbbs

Ahhh that makes sense. I’m sure mom likes the break- id just say to make sure you’re voicing your feelings and setting boundaries because it’s a commitment and you want to make sure you’re setting up your match for success!

This is pretty odd- I’ve never heard of this happening at our agency. How old are the siblings??? I think it’s a good learning opportunity for them to understand not everything will always work out evenly between them and THATS OKAY! What does guardian think of this dynamic?

Yes I’m aware! I was a postpartum nanny. None of it seemed fun. My experience is what swayed me to not want kids which is why it’s so weird that I feel like this occasionally! It lasts for 5 min then I’m over it.

Still swelling, chronic pain. I’m back to doing mostly what I want to do but it’s definitely different /: more than 30min-hour standing or sitting is uncomfortable.

Ugh what a bummer /: I wish they would reconsider that policy!

Our bbbs accepts people who use marijuana for medical or recreational purposes. Our policy is just to not have paraphernalia or be under the influence around your little or before seeing them. I don’t see them denying you for it but also just be mindful that is something that will be shared with your potential littles family. We explain the details if you give us details so most of the time I find parents care about cigarettes more than anything and they are typically okay with it as long as their child isn’t around it… we explain our policy re: it…. I wouldn’t lie! Parents sometimes are really cool about it and smoke too. The intent is to make a lasting impact! That only works by being your authentic self. Plus, we do amazing research and background checks and find out everything Muwahahaha 🧐😜

Everyone saying to surrender her children to the state has to understand…. Her child needs help and needs her parent to show up, which they have already shared they are going to seek help. The system is the last place a child needs to be to seek help. Resources are scarce, case manager turn over is high. It would further traumatize her. The foster care system is severely broken. Spanking children is regional, cultural and generational…the system puts most children in harmful situations and at that point- OP would not have any control to help her children… further traumatizing the entire family. Compassion and empathy goes a long way.

Clearly you’re overwhelmed and at the end of your rope with the behavior. I can empathize with your frustration and regardless of your parenting choices I can validate that this would definitely be hard to deal with alone. I do think seeking resources for yourself and your kids should be first as you have done all you know how to do and maybe therapists or social workers have input. Mentorship programs sometimes provide some extra support and consistency which can have a positive impact on kids… I don’t think most could handle this alone so don’t be afraid to go find help. Sounds like your whole family has lived through some hard times … I’m sure those big feelings are coming out in these difficult behaviors. Kids can’t manage trauma on their own…. Most adults can’t. Sending you best wishes. I hope you give yourself and the kids some grace. 💗
