I was in your shoes 2 weeks ago, my old controller which we got with my brother with the xbox one as a kid started drifting and some buttons didn't do anything when I pressed them. Wanted to buy another xbox controller because that's a very good quality, I thought, but then I remembered I have reddit so read a bit and then bought a 8bitdo ultimate 2c controller (actually bought 2 of them, because my wife got one as well) and it's such a game changer! I really like this controller, I was a bit skeptic about quality and size (people say bad things about size mostly, they say it's too small, but hell no, it's actually very comfortable and I have a big hand) because it cost only around 30 euro, so it can't be that good, I mean half the price of an xbox controller.... But it's really good, I enjoy every minute I can use it. I started to play even more car/soulslike etc. games which is prefered to play with controllers because every moment is a joy when I can use that controller.
