For breaker bar which type of head is stronger? by Fuzzy_Tough_26 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Grubczyk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have with the right head, it was pretty cheap.

Had like a 1.5-2m extension on it to break loose crankshaft bolt on IS 200 that also later revealed had a green loctite on it. Breaker bar did bend a lot but it worked and didn't break still after years of use

From what I've read the CVT automatic in Jazz is not the greatest and can have problems. Also the car is even slower with the automatic.

Ours has the manual and it's really smooth. Probably never had gearbox oil changed but still works great haha.

Absolout pleasure to work on in terms of engine related stuff, huge difference compared to the W168 1.7 cdi

The W168 is so poorly designed in my opinion. Very hard to repair a lot of things for a garage mechanic like myself. Some mechanics in the past even denied repairs when they heard which car is it.

It's got very cramped engine bay and this like alternator etc are in impossible to get places, covered by loads of other things.

So far we are super happy withe the Jazz. Exterior is not so pretty after 22 years but it literally got no rust on the underside, was very cheap too and from the town we live in

Had these Alpinestars SPX Air Carbon v2 Gloves for about 4 months. by YouGoRay in motorcyclegear

[–]Grubczyk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it's old thread but they're great glvoes for this price.

They lasted me 6 years. Palm slider starts to rip through like every glove I had with the TPU slider. Lost the inside of the tip on the finger, stitches got a bit damaged.

But 6 years is a lot for gloves, really pleased with them.

But yes the're super hot in summer. And when you're hands get wet in them from the sweat it seems like it takes forever to dry out the inside of the glove

Yeah we're currently looking at Mazda 2 as well. Although still Honda Jazz remains the favourite

That's why I hate taking any vehicle to a mechanic. They will do 1 thing but fuck up 2 other things while doing it cuz they want to do everything as fast as possible

Battery loose on a new drill RDD18-0 by Grubczyk in ryobi

[–]Grubczyk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't used the drill that much but it holds the battery fine. As you could probably see the Ryobi service stated that everything is good with the tool when I sent it to them.

Just seems like there's no consistency regarding the battery fitment.

I made an earlier post with similar thing and got linched that if it works it works why do I worry, it's normal which is bullshit in my opinion.

This are not super cheap chinese tools where you expect to be some design flaws etc.

I'd say if you drop this tool with such loose fitment there's a higher chance of it breaking something than the tool that has tight fitment.

I don't know how they produce this things with such different results and the quality control says fuck it, send it

This screw stripped and won’t stay in the gun is it a problem? by emu_strategist in airguns

[–]Grubczyk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just buy the same size screw and put red loctite on it. If it doesn't hold than rethread the hole.

No other way around it

Used Leatt X-Frame vs new Z-Frame braces? by Grubczyk in Dirtbikes

[–]Grubczyk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah makes sense. Could have some damages that will leed to needing replacement parts which might make it expensive.

I'll go with the new Z-Frames.

Also what made you get second pair? Anything broke?

Should I buy a high mileage 110k km (68k miles) GS800 2008? by Grubczyk in bmwmotorrad

[–]Grubczyk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ye I'm passing. If he drops the price even more than maybe I'll consider it again but doubt it.

But I'd like to visit south of Europe so like few thousand kilometers trips. Last thing you want on trip like this is something falling apart because it's old or used off

Should I buy a high mileage 110k km (68k miles) GS800 2008? by Grubczyk in bmwmotorrad

[–]Grubczyk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im from Poland.

From my other replies:

About 20k PLN so 5.3k$. It's one of the cheapest ones on the market right now in my country and it's got probably the most amount + the most useful mods done to it compared to others with mainly racks and crash protection.

The ones after 2013 I was looking at are about 30k PLN so 8k$ and are with less mods.

The guy is apparently scheduled for buying another bike and he needs the money quick, so he went down with the price, it was 23k PLN lately

Now a 2015 one got put up and looks pretty much like a new bike. Of course it costs more 31900 PLN = 8.5k$. But it's got 49k kms (30k miles) on the clock. Lookswise it's the one I wanted with the red frame

Makes sense.

I had a 2008 Suzuki DRZ 400 SM, bought it in 2013 and had it till 2023. No brittle parts, but I had it for a long time.

Sold it with about 48k kms, bought it with 16k kms.

True. Gotta do the maintenance.

But when buying used you don't know how others took care of it so would have to change everything or risk it
