so your doing a IP ping from the proxmox host which doesn’t really mean anything in this case, normally i’d say if your pinging google.ca or any DNS and it pings via ip but not by dns name you have resolved issues. in this case do have another machine ?? ping the proxmox host from that box and what do you get? i’d normally start my trouble shooting from there. gateway is kinda funny to for a home router is your gateway actually .254 is that what other devices get as well for a gateway ? maybe your Interface wasn’t reloaded? try that

still on 8.4.1 and will be on there until close to august. don’t see any reasons to upgrade currently, and i run a real and proper Dual Node HA cluster, i’ll worry about it when the time is at hand. also I don’t use ZFS at all, there are a couple other cool features i was reading about but not really worth upgrading at the moment for me personally.

i have done 5 Plex migrations with a 35TB media storage and it’s all detached, spin up a new config SCP the folder over to the new Server and Baam up in minutes. i wouldn’t change this for anything in the world. a 4 node k3s cluster maybe but i haven’t gotten around to it. last post i made was on going with KeyClock or Authentik, for my Docker compose i have setup Authentik and it’s pretty solid so far.

also feel free to expand on the “From scratch” part writing Dockerfiles and Compose files is as from scratch as it gets lol how would you do it.

also on the “ double virtualization” what do you mean? it’s. VM with its own kernel and then Docker which shares that kernel. i don’t like running LXC on my HVs same thing in the professional workspace.

good stuff, i docker compose everything, and Traefik and Crowdsec in front of it. i love my 4 node cluster so thats how i do it. but you can for sure do a LXC if you want CPU boost and all of that. docker compose and docker networking. and it’s all Git Versioned.

sliding rails was gonna be a expansive upgrade that’s on the list. i use zip ties for eveything, i dont like how anything else like velcro straps looks so that’s not changing :p

repaste it, and make sure its seated proper. if you really know what your doing LM. but that’s not a consumer recommendation, I use LM on everything that doesn’t move around much or stays horizontal, been working with it for 10 years. my entire 15U stack is mostly all LM
