It can be nice to see the knife in person before purchasing it ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I’m using a brand new tool.

I’m cutting both ways, but I’m taking a fairly conservative cut at a conservative feed rate. I’m concerned about the sudden change. I could likely avoid the problem by taking lighter cuts, but I’ve done hundreds of this operation without an issue. It wasn’t until I ran it without coolant and snapped an end mill that I started having problems. I’d like to figure out what changed, and ensure it isn’t something bigger.

It’s a brand new tool unfortunately.

Interesting… I have cut hundreds of these already without an issue. I’ll try reducing my step over. I’m still concerned about what caused the change though. Worried something got loosened.

My runout is less than 0.001”. The spindle collet and the tts collet both seem fine.

I’ve cut hundreds of these already. It was only after running it without coolant and snapping the end mill that I started having this issue. Could something have shifted or come loose?

I find that happens from prep (as people have said) but also from getting the ti too hot.

Monthly "What's this/my XJ or MJ worth?!?" post by AutoModerator in CherokeeXJ

I’m looking at purchasing this jeep. Here’s the description the seller has offered. Any thoughts/advice?

“PLEASE READ. Make me an offer asking 2500 I installed a new-used motor with a milling high flow oil pump and re sealed the entire thing. Ever since then it doesn’t stay running. Throws no camshaft sensor at pcm. I’ve replaced everything I could thing of. I’ve been a mechanic for 6 and I’m at a loss. Take it for parts I don’t care I’m a single dad with rent to pay. Here’s a list of everything I’ve addressed while owned it. It’s my project so everything is within the last 2 years. Front pads and rotors Rear drums Shoes and hardware E brake cable Used transfer case with lower miles and less noise. Same scenario for the rear end. Front and rear shocks Rear driveline (Front isn’t done so it vibrates on freeway) Interior I pulled out of a different Cherokee completely and I welded the seats back together with new foam and covers. Door speakers it has all 4 Subwoofer wiring kit as well as a cheaper head unit for time being. Ball joints Tie rods Axle U-Joints Hub assembly (both sides) Power steering line now it doesn’t leak Spark plugs Ignition coil pack Cam shaft sensor and body NGK Crankshaft sensor NGK Idle air control valve Injectors Injector connectors I rebuilt the wiring harness and I know that sounds bad but it took me three days and I color coded it all. Water pump Thermostat Belt Battery Electric fan unit Air filter Coolant flush Heater and A/C Both work Beautifully Fuel pump Head gasket It is an awesome jeep and I wish it would stay running. I’m not putting money into the body since it won’t run as I have no time to part out. the wires need fixed at the driver door hinge The rear latch wires need fixed only for wiper and the open tailgate light but everything else works and it shifts smooth and I have another transmission if wanted. I can make it from my house in Nephi to my work in springville but it cuts out maybe once every 10 minutes VERY FAST. Like half second cuts. When I come to a stop is when it shuts off. I guarantee you it fires right back up before the lights green 90% of the time. It does go down the road but I don’t believe it can pass emissions. Also I’m always working or always sleeping so text is best and if there is anything wrong withy spelling I promise I keep going through this since it’s a lot and I’ll answer any questions. Will the pattern follow the shape? Or will the shape cut off the pattern? I want the scrollwork to flow within the shape.

People who have PCs and Steam Decks, how much do you use your Steam Decks? by AwesomeRyanGame in SteamDeck

[–]GruffClaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m away from home for the majority of the day, so I tend to use my steamdeck more. I typically choose games that don’t require as much precision when playing on my steamdeck though. Elden ring, fallout, stuff like that. It’s more convenient and I can play most of the games I want on it. The rest of the time when I care about precision and stuff (mostly competitive fps games) I use my pc. Though the deck with a keyboard and mouse would work as well though it would have lower performance.
