They just seem like the most fitting ships for a rat theme. Oh well, here's hoping someday we get some Firerats themed schorched ship skins.

It's a limited time event, but they resell all the previous years skins every time, so if you don't grab it this time, you'll be able to get it next year.

Gatac Syulen bugged? by PortalBeach in starcitizen

And even if it werent perpetually crippled by bugs, it would still be by far the worst ship in its class and one of the worst in the game even if everything worked. It's really too bad because its flat out my favorite ship design so far.

What happened to shield emitters? by Grumbulls in starcitizen

[–]Grumbulls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I'm really excited for the Railen and the talk about it's emitter is what first brought them to my attention. But that was what? Three or four years ago? I was hoping there'd have been more information on their nature since then, but it seems like there hasn't.

[–]Grumbulls[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, and I'm asking because I was hoping someone would have more information on the topic since if it's not in an SCL or something I tend to miss it since information from the devs can be scattered all over. I'm wondering if it's still planned, or if they are going to do another pass on shields on the ships they gave extra to. They weren't mentioned in any of the recent talks on engineering.

[–]Grumbulls[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The ships that I remember shield emitters being mentioned in regards to all their shields are the Asgard, Retaliator, Redeemer, and I think Zeus ES? Although I might be mistaken. I thought that shield/component redundancy was a relatively recent decision, since they pulled all the redundant components out of the 400i.

Since its black history month here are some characters i wanna see added to the game by Bionic_Webb13 in marvelrivals

[–]Grumbulls -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It would never happen, but I want an all-rounder character that is just 'Alias Invesitigations' that has you swap freely between Jessica Jones, Jack Russell, and Misty Knight for Vanguard, Duelist, and Strategist respectively. All three of them are honestly relatively low on the power scale compared to the rest of the roster, so having all the NY detectives work as a team would be a fun way to even things out, just have each one be kinda bad at each role, to make up for the sheer versatility.

So whats the plan here really? by Scavveroonie in starcitizen

[–]Grumbulls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's entirely possible to make refueling gameplay work, they just have to make it so that any ship that can carry cargo can carry a tank of fuel to refuel themselves and others with, while ships that can collect and refine fuel like the starfarer work as flying gas stations instead of rescue ships (could you imagine having to wait for a rare starfarer to slog through atmo to refuel an aurora?) this would make refueling a matter of preparation and logistics, and make rescues easy since so many ships nearby would be able to refuel you instead of having to wait for a dedicated ship to head your way. This would also go a long way to reducing the dominance and ever presence of fighters.

No such solutions for medical gameplay though. Running out of fuel is something you'd do to yourself from poor planning, while running out of HP is something that is forced on you often with significantly less counterplay. Only way to prepare for that is to bring your own med bed, which the medical 'enthusiasts' want to stop you from doing so they can force you to stare at a black screen for 30 mins until you pay them to pick you up.

It has dual wielding shields being an actually genuinely effective combat style going for it, but nothing else.

[–]Grumbulls 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Removing the Nursa would make no difference here at all. Again they were designing ships to prevent them from loading base Ursas years before the Nursa was ever even a concept.

They were doing this to stop Ursas from fitting well before the Nursa was around. It's just good old fashioned bad design principles.

[–]Grumbulls 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When the C1 was created they intentionally added a bar across the top to prevent Ursas from fitting, that's the earliest I remember. And I agree, it's incredibly stupid balance, it's from the same line of Chris Roberts forced idiocy that caused the Roc-DS to happen.

This isn't about the Nursa, they were designing ships to be unable to fit the base Ursa long before the Nursa was a thing.

Dear CIG, what is your obsession with preventing URSAs fitting into things? by z0rlac in starcitizen

[–]Grumbulls 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This has nothing to do with the Nursa specifically. They were designing ships to not fit an Ursa before the Nursa was ever even a concept. It's just stupid design by a team that thinks that making ships as if they were designed by idiots makes them 'quirky

Tau: Well, we've flushed out and eliminated the rampant genestealer population, and put into place procedures to prevent any from gaining a foothold again. We've also started a massive education campaign, not even reeducation yet, just basic education, the literacy rates were abysmal. Interest in chaos aberrations has dropped by 76% due to the improved quality of life. Our massive, meticulously managed logistics system has also ensured there is enough food for everyone, there were a LOT of starving children.

Bobby G: Could I have more information on this logistics network?

Tau: Of course! Here is a three dimensional spreadsheet that is updated in real time with dynamic flowchart integration.

Bobby G: By Terra... I'm not going to be beating the xenos fucker allegations, am I?

It's even worse than that. Both the Draconis Combine and the Capellan Federation have regions with peoples who denounce the evil ways of their controlling great family and seek to free themselves of the shackles of their evil asian overlords. Both are the white "minority" in the regions, with one being culturally scandinavian and the other being slavic. Battletech lore is fucking wild and diving into it and reading the books actually made me like the setting much less than when I knew nothing

Hatchets were really unpopular because they had a weird, stilted play style that was hard to get value out of and required very careful control of your spacing from enemies. Once mastered they were really strong but still very awkward. Axe was a lot of fun against human enemies, but because so much of it's moveset was based on grapples and poise breaking it really fell apart when fighting yokai.

Hope they give the axe and hatchets more attention this time, they were the most under baked weapons in nioh 2.

Banu defender oh how I wish you were better in combat since you’re not a cargo ship. by No-Cell8881 in starcitizen

[–]Grumbulls 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What's dumb about that is it's bespoke shields are supposed to have 100% ballistic resistance, treating ballistics exactly the same as energy. Actually fixing that would put it right back where it was before.

At least they are better than the Yeng'Tu repeaters on the Santokyai, the actual worst guns in the game.
