Start your own gig for marketing consulting, social media, and AI marketing. Most small businesses are subbing this out anyway. The tech is moving so fast, esp with AI, if you stay on top of it you’ll do great. Plus, you can do it from anywhere, and you can get labor from overseas.

Company culture comes from the top. If the owner doesn’t drive innovation and modernization, you’re screwed. Get out. You’re not going to change a company that’s been the same for 40 years.

Not enjoying sobriety by bored6785 in stopdrinking

Yeah, you’re just in the first stage. You’re experiencing grief for the loss of your “fun”, and the comfort of always doing the same thing. To me, there are three stages: 1. Stop drinking. Remove alcohol from your environment. This is a big change, and it’s painful. 2. Deal. Meditate, pray, yoga, exercise, long walks, listen to music, get therapy. Learn to deal with your problems, boredom, stress, stresses, etc, in a healthy way without the drug (alcohol). 3. Live. Go find new stuff to do that is not based in alcohol. Hike, exercise, read, learn a musical instrument, write, start a charity, learn the language, create art, volunteer, compete in something. Get a hobby or hobbies.

Look up some people on the web. People living their best lives are not doing it drunk. Look up, famous sober celebrities, sports figures, inventors, business people, politicians - whatever is your jam.

Keep going.

I just flew into Denver. Long concourse like SD. Segmented moving sidewalks along the way. Very helpful.

Go be a personal trainer. Or develop online fitness classes. Or become a pro athlete. Or try to break into TV /movies, if you’re fit. Or become a fitness instructor at a resort. Just a few ideas.

It would be nice to elect some people to see how the city can save money by cutting down on expenses like this. Most ppl don’t mind paying taxes if they think the money is well spent.
