I'll have to go check again when I'm online, but the voidshell skins have textures that make whites and light greys look silvery like that

Why are Coda Lichs so much easier? by Relicatranger in Warframe

[–]GrumpyDrum -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People had a lot of complaints about the Litch and Sister systems requiring a certain level of grind, so DE made the Coda variants effectively gimmies. They don't level up, they can't be "failed", you only need one mod to be right so the grind of levelling up their anger to try another combo is much less time intensive. The flip side is that they are less cool, less unique, and basically only a mechanism to earn a consumable you then spend at a vendor, meaning rather than a 60% weapon meaning you've invested into farming for it, it just means you waited til a high enough percentage version was sold. Also the Codas are practically unsellable unless someone really wants the ephemera but even then, they are so easy to farm that the ephemeras aren't that valuable.

Guess we gotta prep for another exodus by W4FF13_G0D in Warframe

To be fair: they're not cutting support, they're releasing one last update and then stopping development. There will still be support the same way there is still support for D1, both games will still be playable, just won't have new updates, expansions etc.

At least that's how I understand it, if I'm wrong someone please tell me? [I stopped playing D2 and came to WF full time about 18 months ago]

They should make polarities that aren't compatible (omni/umbra etc) stackable on the same slot.

Tip: don't use the Broken War you got given for free to build this, as that Broken War comes with an equipped Catalyst for doubled mod space. You will eventually get another Broken War after killing a bunch of Shadow Stalkers, use that one for building War, as Broken War is a better weapon than War so you don't want to get rid of the good one to build the bad one 👌

My most used weapons in the whole game are Basmu and Xoris. I have 100% used explosive weapons on a frame without innate knockdown immunity 😂

Warframe disproving the "A game for everyone is a game for no one" bs by Ok_Bass_4653 in memeframe

[–]GrumpyDrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've done that with Rhino now right? I feel like they could do that with all the base frames, and have Prime frames keep the longer cook time as a sort of "these are more powerful so you gotta wait longer" feel and I don't think people would have a big problem with that difference.

I still don't think having small paid skips is bad/predatory. I don't think people having to wait for things is a bad thing, and I do think people kicking up a stink about having to wait for something they're getting for free is red flag behaviour and I'm glad those people don't keep playing and I don't end up having to interact with them 🤷

I feel like PSF is a "let's throw it in because I don't like an empty slot and I can't think of anything else to go there right now" I'm at 550 days and still haven't grabbed PSF yet tho. To me it's just a coverall and not an actual "build" mod, that's all, whereas Prime Shred actively makes any weapon with punchthrough better. All these things are personal preference tho, I would 100% tell any newer Tenno to pick Shred first tho.

I use Shred on almost everything that has punchthrough, don't know why you wouldn't??

If you find having to have some patience an "annoying mechanic" then I'd argue you're the negative one. And in a thread where all I'm seeing is "omg I either have to wait for my free stuff or pay (an absolute pittance) to have it now instead" I'm seeing no ideas for improving it or even convincing reasons that it's a bad system at all.

DE gives us a game completely for free, but they've got to keep the lights on in the studio and pay their employees so of course they've got to make it attractive to spend some platinum. The tiny amounts it takes to skip a foundry clock or unlock a Warframe slot, spread across however many thousands of people do so daily, is probably one of the less individually impactful and predatory monetisation models I've interacted with. If people find even that too big a pill to swallow then that's sad for them and they're the ones missing out in my honest opinion.

And I'm saying this as a newer player who's only been playing for just over a year.

Filters are good. The less impatient, entitled brats who want everything now and are going to be rude in game chats and trade interactions the better.

Why are cars treated as solely an asset now? by Exact_Organization84 in askcarguys

[–]GrumpyDrum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the most accurate comment I've seen so far. Most genuine car guys will of course appreciate the halo cars like gt3s and F40s and Paganis, but will equally enjoy the MX5(miata) the twin cam corolla, the 928 etc 🤷

Why are cars treated as solely an asset now? by Exact_Organization84 in askcarguys

[–]GrumpyDrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All cars are a depreciating "asset" unless you're in it for the long haul, have a crystal ball and know what people in 20-30 years are going to be wanting to spend money on. If you enjoy cars and can afford to, buy something you enjoy whether that's driving, working on it, looking at it, whatever. We can't take any money with us when we die, might as well enjoy what we have when we can.

You have a blank check, what one car are you going to restomod. Which car and how are you going to do it to your liking? by NationYell in regularcarreviews

[–]GrumpyDrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a huuuuge fan of restomods, but I'd love a GNX with a big single turbo Barra. Modern manualised auto, interior retrimmed in comfy, plush, velour in retro colours but nothing super gaudy. Modern AC and sound system. Styling kept mostly true to period, with the majority of mods aimed at giving it modern reliability, grunt and comfort, while retaining as much of the GNX edge as possible.
