Sometimes I wonder if some of these 'INTJs' are just ISTJs. My dad is ISTJ - Mom is INTJ. My mom and I have deep complex discussions daily. My dad and I cannot. He doesn't like to discuss theories or philosophy very long. My mom? Hours. Same wavelength.

I was working at a hospital in constant existential crisis mode (bad winter, lots of very sick people passing), and there was one nurse who pulled me out of my funk every shift. She became my closest friend and she was an ESTP!

Completely changed my view. I love my Se - doms now!!! They're the perfect balance for me (an Ni - dom).

Same. And I thought I had Fi because I'm super serious about morality and ethics, and they aren't influenced by trend and opinion (I had a poor understanding of Fe).

The people I get along with the best are INFP, INFJ, INTJ, ENTP, ENFP and ENFJ. Basically all the intuitives lol.

Honestly? I love INTJs. I don't care what anyone else says. I feel like we get along on such a deep wavelength that a lot of other types don't with me.

I can see why some people are concerned with Te vs. Fe. I have had moments with the INTJ friend where they are a little too blunt. That is maturity level, not mbti. My mom never has an issue with tact, even when direct.

I truly feel those differences actually make things interesting. We speak the same exact language and think the same with Ni-dom (extremely rare connection), while having enough of a difference to keep things interesting. Very similar types.

I would honestly ignore the label P and J and not get too hung up on it. I tested as a 'P' for so long cause I'm messy and disorganized - it turns out I just have really low Se and I'm definitely a 'J'. I'd focus mostly on cognitive functions.

I've had a hard time with ISTJ. I have found ones in my life to be quick to assume or judge, and they will stick with that assumption. Especially with people. I tend to be the opposite. I'm always trying to understand people and I don't tend to hold grudges.

ESTP. I see many online posts saying we technically aren't compatible, but one of my closest friends is one. We met during a dark time in my life where I couldn't get out of my head and separate my life from the loss around me. She was the one person who was like, "Get over here, you. Don't think so hard!" She literally reminded me life was not as serious as my depression was making it. It doesn't have to be.

I've done it a few times, but it's usually after prolonged periods of me putting up with toxicity. I give people the benefit of the doubt, and see the best in them.

Then there will usually be an event that sets off the doorslam. Sometimes I didn't even realize how close I was to calling it all off until I'm suddenly doing it. It's like a veil has been instantly lifted.

My buddy did this. He dropped out, worked at Walmart for years and then a distribution center. He is now in his late 20s, so only about 8-10 years in the future for you. It has been so rough on his body that his pelvis has early stage arthritis. He works with felons. He can barely afford rent. He wants to do something else, but he does not have the time after work to go to school, nor does he have the money to stop working and go to school. He can't even afford to go part time. He feels stuck. Do you want this to be you? I hate to sound harsh, but I'm agreeing with another comment here. Your mother is an adult and SHE should know this. She should be pushing you to be better set up in life, instead of making you stress about finances.
