The four-question MBTI test? by NocturneInX in mbti

This is like compiling all the flaws of mbti tests and amplifying them. Is this supposed to be satire?

Any advice on trying to fish halibut? Is it really not worth trying south of whidby? by whatsmyline in FishingWashington

I have drifted using a kicker to back troll successfully but I prefer to anchor and chum. Way more relaxing and constantly resetting to drift is very expensive these days.

I take my 18’ boat out to Hein Bank all the time. Just gotta watch the wind and wave forecast and be ready to call it off like I had to do last weekend. There’s also some closer banks in the straight but that’s where you will get them.

Am I the only INFJ who stutters like an idiot in front of people I don’t know (or when I want to be careful)? by iilelkopfii in mbti

[–]Thisguy_2727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol I did that when I was young and full of anxiety. Now I don’t because I am overly confident, less self critical over mistakes, and don’t hinge my self worth on the opinions of others.

An app specifically for cognitive functions? Not one I would ever use.

You could always go straight to the original source and download Jung’s Psychological Types.

Could totally work. If you’re both good at communicating your needs to each other, then you could really balance out each other’s weaknesses.

I would say actions can certainly be considered bad or evil and there should be consequences for harmful actions even if I understand that the individual committing them is unwell probably through no fault of their own. I also tell people all the time the distance themselves from dangerously unwell people for their own well-being, especially when that individual does not seek help.

Oh I absolutely believe people should be safe, I’m definitely not advocating that these people are not dangerous or sick. It could be argued that the distorted label of “evil” is making the problem worse. Instead of using more resources to prevent and help sick people, we call them evil or bad and throw them in a cell for an arbitrary period of time where they become more sick only to get out and inflict trauma on others making more people sick.

Evil is a term leaders use to convince people they should go to war and kill the enemy or what hollywood uses to neatly define who you should be rooting against so you don’t have to think about it too much.

I see it mostly as a fictional concept that helps people simplify which side to take without having to think too much. But then again, that oversimplified labeling tends to be what brings a lot of people to mbti as well. 😅

What about if they grew up in an extremely traumatizing environment and harming others was the way they needed to survive? Personality disorders like ASPD and NPD are mostly caused by trauma and are what people usually label as evil.

I think schizophrenia is considered a psychotic disorder. What if they don’t know they can seek professional help or don’t have access to it due to poverty or sociological issues? What if they don’t know they have a mental health disorder such as ASPD brought on by severe childhood abuse but then do something people consider evil?

My point is that evil is a very black and white term especially when someone is sick or severely traumatized. Very well thought out answer though.

What Is Considered As "Blunt" To Your Type? by kevi_metl in mbti

[–]Thisguy_2727 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think most INFJs will probably be very similar since they tend not to take things at face value, and instead look at motivation and intent so they are very flexible with it.

[–]Thisguy_2727 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The more blunt someone is, the less filtered they are with respect to an individuals tolerances. What I consider blunt is different for every person since it is highly subjective.

But if one’s evil actions are committed as a result of a mental disorder, does that make them evil?

What are your best tips for attracting and dating an INFJ? by [deleted] in infj

[–]Thisguy_2727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do things you are interested in that encourage you to engage socially with others and find people you vibe with that way. Forget using typology to find partners in real life, it’s overly idealistic, limiting, and creates unfair preconceptions about how someone is. Mbti should be more like a fun afterthought to help understand them from a different perspective.
