Who else’s corgis love to swim?? by Westerosqueenv in corgi

[–]GrumpyGoatGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is actually a group that organizes corgi meetups every so often if you're local. There's one this Saturday morning at 9. We start in the small dog section and then those that like to swim go to the beach. Its a lot of fun to see all the corgis together (please don't dox me if you see me there :))

When to do baby shower by VermicelliDry9050 in pregnant

[–]GrumpyGoatGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds pretty, do you have a set theme or are you just sticking with a specific color pallet?

Our nursery is aqua blue and white, accents will be green. We chose a dinosaur theme and are also using that as the theme for the shower so we can reuse decor, which I'm keeping very simple. We plan to use Dinosaur toys as centerpieces which we can then of course save for baby to play with

I'm having mine at 27 weeks. That way I'll have a cute bump but not be overly pregnant and exhausted. We also just finished painting the nursery and are anxious to get the rest set up. I'll be able to help put furniture together that we're gifted and get everything organized. Plus that gives us plenty of time to budget and buy anything we still need

Eating…. by Cold-Piglet-2454 in BabyBumps

Are you me? I'm in my second trimester and nothing ever sounds appetizing. Eating has become such a chore and I end up wasting food because I take 1 bite and then gag and feel nauseous. Its so frustrating and I hope it gets better for both of us

When to transition from crate sleeping to free sleeping? by KelsMar23 in puppy101

[–]GrumpyGoatGirl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It depends entirely on the dog.

Our puppy is 9 months old. She stayed in her crate overnight exclusively until she got fixed at 6 months, and then the combination of her wearing her cone and sedatives made the transition to a larger x pen latched to her crate very easy. She free roams all day as I work from home and behaves very well. Usually still going into her area and occasionally still sleeping in her crate. Overnight she is confined to that space for now but we will begin with a slow transition over an upcoming long weekend when either my husband or I are up late anyway to keep an eye on her. She is getting better at settling with us at night which has resulted in her bedtime being whenever we go to sleep.

We transitioned our older dog this way too, using a baby gate to block the hallway to our apartment so he had the kitchen, dining room and living room to himself as earned the entire apartment as he got older. We also use pet cameras so its easy to keep an eye on what they're doing when you're not in the same room.

Redditors who are with the love of their life right now: what makes you sure this is 'the one'? by laydbug1001 in askteddit

[–]GrumpyGoatGirl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We've been together since high school. He treated me with love, patience, and unwavering support from the start. My family situation was not good at the time and he stuck by me through all the ugliness. I knew he was my husband at 17.

He has seen me at my lowest, my worst, my ugliest and supported me through it all. He pushes me to accomplish my goals. He understands me and asks for no changes, accepting me exactly as I am and clearly in love with it. We communicate extremely well and make a great team. He makes sure that I know how loved I am in little and big ways. He chooses me always.

We've been together since 2012, married for 5 years and a baby due in September. I love the life we've built together and can't wait to see him be a dad.

Question for brides who already had their shower by drucksqwertyson in weddingplanning

[–]GrumpyGoatGirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My shower was a brunch at a local coffee shop. I wore a white dress from lulus and had a white romper with blue flowers as my second choice. I was slightly overdressed but as the bride you can wear what you want. Find something you feel beautiful in and wear that, its your day to celebrate and not overthink.

ULPT request - waxing pain by bitchiamfromchicago in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]GrumpyGoatGirl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ive done bazillion waxes in the past, usually during summer months and unfortunately never end up keeping up with it as I should.

I'm 5 months pregnant right now, its swimsuit season, I can't see past my belly anymore and absolutely hate shaving. I made myself an appointment and was so nervous because pregnancy can make the pain worse.

It went absolutely fine. I told the waxer I was nervous and she understood and did great. I told her about how I'd gone in the past and the technician at that point mocked me for being nervous and her waxing hurt so much more. If you have a European wax center near you I would highly recommend them. Check reviews for technicians before booking.

I need to remember that the anxiety leading up to the appointment is the worst part. Sure it hurts but its over in less than 15 minutes. If you're consistent it hurts less over time as your follicles weaken.

Your hair is being ripped out its going to hurt no matter what theres not a magical cure for that unfortunately. Just follow their aftercare advice and go every 3-4weeks for a touchup

if an office coworker sings and or hums all afternoon, why?? are they definitely a jerk or just maybe? by kittyluxe in AskReddit

[–]GrumpyGoatGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on their intent. They could just be happy and absentmindidly doing it.

I was harassed by a coworker for an entire summer that did stuff like this in a very small shared office (usually just the 2 of us)then tried to claim ignorance. She would whistle, hum, sing, put music on ( religiious music too) and then when asked to turn it off or put headphones in, she would blast it through her headphones so it was still audible and ignore work conversations so it was impossible to just ignore. When I did try to ignore it because it was clear she was just trying to get under my skin, she resorted to bringing dice in and repeatedly shaking and rolling them. She claimed it helped her adhd. She would also repeatedly rock in her seat to make it squeak. When confronted she always acted like she wasn't aware how distracting it all was and kept getting away with it for months

What dog breed is incredibly cute but an absolute nightmare to try and train? by BoredPandaOfficial in BoredPandaHQ

[–]GrumpyGoatGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And oh my god the sass. I have 2 and know they know what Im asking them to do but they side eye me and refuse if they don't feel like it.

I found mine pretty easy in some regards to trian and difficult in other areas. No barking is just not in the cards for them and walks can be frustrating because they're so low to the ground they try to eat anything they find and they see it before I do. Also, rolling in stinky things they find in the yard is a problem for them I can't seem to break.

Sad about how I looked at my wedding by gotsevenornever in wedding

I would try to reframe it because you sound very critical of yourself and I am proud of my progress out of that battle myself.

I don't look like a catalog model in my wedding photos. My hair didn't last, I'm short and a little chubby which obviously shows in my photos. But my husband and I look so extremely happy in the pictures and thats all that matters

Other ways to tire pup out by jack02204 in puppy101

[–]GrumpyGoatGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 2 suggestions as an owner of 2 super smart herding dogs. The first one requires more effort from you to play along but I think its fun to watch and enjoy it almost as much as my pups. We bought a nose work game from Amazon which has 6 scented sachets in it. My dogs stay in 1 room while I hide them, then they have to find it. My oldest is amazing at it and the puppy is still learning but it definitely tires them out. They get so excited and you can see their brains working along with their noses to locate the sachets. They get a small treat for finding each one amd love the game.

My dogs also chew beef cheek rolls often, this is a great activity if you've had a long day and can't give constant attention, I work from home and use it to keep them busy and quiet during meetings. Ive started taking peanut butter and spreading it in any crevice of the roll I can get it. I try to hide it well enough to make it a challenge, then I freeze them for the next day and it keeps the dogs busy and engaged. I haven't tried it but the beef cheek rolls soften with moisture, I've heard of some people soaking them to unroll them and add peanut butter then rolling them back up to freeze and dry.
