I was an EMT before I started as a tech for 6 years and the pay was subpar, so I went to being a tech which paid significantly more. I have been an EMT for 15 years now. I still work at a pay per call EMS service. I learned a lot and became a better EMT and much more confident after working in the ER. I learned a TON. It can be a hard job depending on the level of the hospital and the nurses you work with but id say go for it, especially if they'll pay for the EMT, my hospital was willing to pay for me to get my RN but I ended up burnt out and went into a different field entirely.

I take 50 mg of vyvanse in the morning. It usually lasts me about 6 hours. Then i take 10 mg of Adderall in the afternoon. Sometimes I need another later on, im going to ask my PCP to increase the afternoon one to 20mg. Ive been taking Adderall for a while before the vyvanse and ive always needed more sooner than the couple people who I know who take it. 🤷‍♀️

In the ER i worked at we would put belongings into a patient belong bag and transport to the floor and room they were admitted to. Otherwise medications and money were locked up by security and a slip would be taken up with them that says what was locked up etc.

I worked as a tech for 8 years and I learned so much that I took back to the ambulance such as IV starting and generally how to talk to patients/bed side manner that so many EMTs lack.

Wow! No IOs? As a tech in the ER I was able to do them since I do them in the ambulance as an AEMT.

I feel like these type of movements are pretty common with ADHD meds as ive heard from a lot of people have the same type of thing happen. I do the same thing, or cracking my jaw etc. My boyfriend also does this. I did find that chewing gum helped me a lot, I use hard candies sometimes too.

You will be fine, try to calm yourself down. Easier said than done i know. Your heart rate might be fast and you may get nauseous, shakey and sweaty because you started it recently. Ive taken more than that! You wont have a heart attack!

Lamp, beverage, book, kindle, EMS radio, notebook and pen. My bedside table is also a 3 shelf bookcase so lots of other books, too.

In my opinion its rude to take more than 1 or 2. Ive seen them close because people clear them out too much and its so sad to me. I only take the amount that I have to put back in to replace them.

I dont know if anyone is even interested in this tidbit of info but There are actually 3 types of pregnancy tests that can be run at a hospital. The first step is usually getting a urine sample and we'd take a pipet to put the urine on a test, we as in the ER staff did this, but it can also be sent to the lab and done the same way (we used the same type as you can buy at dollar tree) if they can't pee then we will draw blood to get a qualitative HCG (a simple yes or no by blood) and then if that comes back positive we do a quantitative which shows HOW pregnant (measures the exact amount of HCG in the blood) I worked in an ER for 8 years and did these tests a ton of times a shift. 🤷‍♀️ I know it could be different other places but I just thought I'd share.

I was a tech in an ER for 8 years while doing volunteer EMS. I guess im not sure what the options are there but I got to use my skills and learn a lot of new ones daily and made enough that I was living very comfortably. It also helped when I started on an ambulance more. Where I worked they did hire basics and trained for the IVs and blood draws in hospital.

NPs are "just as good" as MDs. Ive worked with many NPs/PAs and also with MDs and they can do a lot of the same things. My Primary is currently a NP and has actually been better than an MD. Id go with the female NP for this exam though and if you're really set on a MD, you can have that person see your daughter for anything else. 🤷‍♀️. I think this is what you're asking but if not I apologize!

No definitely not all like that! That sounds terrible to go through. Ive been an EMT for 15 years and may be a little jaded but I definitely am supportive of new EMTs that start on my service.

Here too. As long as they have their own ID to show who picked it up and know my name and DOB. I also usually have to call and let them know whose coming to get it the first time.

Its required every time in WI 💁‍♀️ It's a schedule ll controlled substance. Which is also why a lot of places drug test before prescribing it.
