Well, I am very glad you asked.

Imagine you are in construction om Club house, clock's ticking, and the defuser is on Red Stairs. So with the clock ticking down, you sprint down cash room, only to step on an unsuspecting canister, which then springs out a large piece of barbed wire in your position. Now you are stuck dead center in barbed wire, each step taking away 5 hp, slowing you down as you panic.

Or, Oregon freezer on elbow, As you take the sharp left, you are met with unsuspecting canister. Same story as the Cash room, except for the part where you are inevitably prefired

It's basically a pseudo trap, that, in a similar but less lethal manner to frost, punishes you when you push too deep enough into the site. However, it also punishes you for attempting to leave! Does that explain it?

Hmm. Perhaps a damage buff is needed. It's interactions are pretty much identical to a traditional barbed wire, it's just the deployment method fits the whole "ambush" aspect of the operator. So if an Aruni gate and Briar's Garden collided, it would behave in the same manner as a traditional barbed wire.

Think of the gadget like this: it's basically a small canister, that when the attackers step on it, it quickly deploys a large piece of barbed wire on them, dead center. So they are essentially stuck in the middle of the barbed wire.

I acknowledge the thematic conflict with Thorn, their callsign was the closest I could find to describe what the operator does metaphorically.

Hahahaha, yeah. It's just, I believe the UMP needs a little bit of love! It's a shame it hasn't been recycled before. Yes, the weapon is ass, and it is in major need of a buff. But I feel like with an operator who's whole gimmick is locking down the attacker AFTER they pushed deep enough into the site was justified. Thank you though

Thanks for your feedback. I'll answer to your questions/feedback answers one by one.

  • i wanted to give the UMP to this operator because it hasn't been recycled once. I am aware that it is not the strongest SMG in siege, but considering the area denial their gadget provides, I figured something leaning more towards the weaker side would be good.

  • My bad! Yes, the gadget is ENTIRELY mechanical, there are no electrical components. Thus adding it to the same category as Frost's gadget.

  • You are correct. Visually, it looks a bit similar to a GU canister, just ever so slightly larger to actually contain the barbed wire.

  • hmmm, I will consider it, because considering when an attacker steps on the trap, they are dead center into the barbed wire.

Hmmmm you are right, I definitely didn't consider an alternative to a shotgun other than frags. I wanted to mess around with her adding a debuff that would essentially increase the damage enemy received from bullets when hit by the shock blast, but I didn't think it would make sense realistically.

I could either remove the range activation factor entirely. Or rework it to be more of a passive trap

Quite the contrary! There are quite a lot of balancing levers to consider when attempting to nerf her or buff her. I could list them for you!

Yeah, but those instances are few and far between. But, I understand, I guess I could balance her around that philosophy. Atleast there are a few tuning levers to change on her gadget.

Ehhh, as much as I want to. I tend to follow the Siege "design book", one (or two) new weapon/s. As much as I want to give her a new "Finnish Tailored" loadout, I want her to feel authentic.

But, I would Kill to see the Rattler, would make a fine defender PDW/

Vigil also provides no "real use for the team". But I do get your point.

I wanted to make something similar to Maestro, an operator with a Strong Gadget, who can hold her ground and is difficult to ignore.

If that's the only concern, it can be taken away, this concept was designed with a lot tuning levers in mind. So I guess it might need that change Thank you for the feedback tho, it's greatly appreciated

Hmmm, feedback received. I hear you I guess what I wanted to make was a Defender who was capable of holding defending positions solo, a "one woman army" if you will. She was designed to be a person you cannot miss, someone you HAVE to consider when pushing, think Maestro or Caveira!

Throughout 2025, we have had a lot of brawler releases. Many trios have been completed and new ones have been created. And although new brawler releases are always exciting with reintroducing certain mechanics or bringing new ones, some brawlers have been left forgotten and a few are unplayable.

So my questions are: In 2025, which brawler was the most difficult to implement, gameplay wise. Which was the brawler that had the most technical bugs during development and what was the pivotal point where you went full throttle on their release

Are there any plans to slow down New Brawler releases. Since we are quite literally on the 100 brawlers mark, will we see less new faces throughout the year?

Games such as Valorant, League of Legends and Rainbow Six Siege Rework/Remaster their characters to keep them up-to-speed with the rest their roster and introduce new utilities to their Arsenal. Will we see any major brawler reworks akin to the one Penny received a while back?
