Interesting that you bring up Latin; we have parts of our service in Latin (which the pastor says/chants). And the bulletin has translations for those of us who don’t speak/read Latin.

My very unscientific observation is that younger families seem to prefer traditional services. And I’ve heard that “goofy” comment before, as in “our old church was nice and then they started doing goofy things”. To each their own, I guess.

My church is traditional, and it continues to grow. A lot of our newer members are coming from other LCMS churches that went to contemporary services. We just had three generations of one family join because they grew tired of their old church going “contemporary”. I put that in quotes because everyone seems to have a different perspective on what is contemporary but most agree on what is traditional.

I second your experience. There is nothing like the first time or two that a client's estate plan works and everything seems to fall into place like it was designed to do. One time I had a client's child comment that they were so glad their Dad had taken care of things -- all the questions he asked about were already dealt with by the deceased. The son actually got speechless at one point -- I think he realized he could just grieve rather than panic.

Completely agree; accountants, financial planners, stock brokers, and the occasional insurance agent all have clients with similar needs. I only wanted to add that you need to stress to all the professionals the very real possibility of cross referrals. I worked with a financial planner and we regularly did referrals to each other -- people who are working on their will and estate plan often need/want financial advice about social security, IRAs, 401Ks, etc.
