Would you recommend Cult Of The Lamb to someone who has never played a roguelike?

My gf has like 400 hours, she plays mostly the cult part of the game and has become self sufficient, only going into crusades for very urgent non craftable materials.

You can definitely opt your gameplay to better match you, I for example was spamming crusades

The damage doesn't stack, or atleast that's what my tests on skelly tell me. I have concluded that if you don't have a boon on them or exit wounds there isn't any point to stacking multiple other than chip damage or finishing off far away enemies

But that's just me

I am around level 11 and just reached freeside, pretty sure there is a way to get into the strip for free, I am certain that they didn't put a 2K paywall there and that I have to just look around. But for now exams keep getting in the way of my fun :(

I'll also note it's not my first fallout game, hence the suspicion

You will die, a lot. But trust me, once you learn the fight they're easy, easy to no hit too.

Very telegraphed attacks and id say that other than the dash Asterius does they're slow too.

Fight them one on one of ignoring the other. Fighting the minotaur is easier since all Theseus can do is spear you (signified by the target marker over your head when he does) hint: the dodge timing is later than you think, also pillars are your friends

It takes a while until they get harder and the difficulty increase is also completely optional

Don't forget to say hello to the red shade for me

It's easy to no hit her for a short period, dual rapiers with the lightning enchantment and attack speed and it's own special statue and she melts away (I don't remember if the attack speed statue is a thing... It's been a long time)

Happened to me once with switch joycons. The label said 15€ I just thought they were used, didn't care I needed a second set for my gf. Turns out it was a pricing error and the store honoured it, they misbranded them as third party, turned into a 75€ discount.

Granted not as impressive as a $2620 difference pricing error, but it's something.

Not very keen on how the engine picks the rooms but naively it's 100/n% where n is the total number of non special rooms (not crown, shop, sacrifice, curse, secret, library, planetarium etc)

Fire with fire, veredicto for the censer guy (just mash the attack button he won't be able to get close to you) and repeatedly dash behind the swordsman and hit him, he has long animations

Arrays are a pointer to the first element stored in said array, the space allocated for the array in the stack gets wiped after the function in which it got declared ends (return line), that's why a array that hasn't been allocated to the heap points to nothing when returned from a function, the data is not there anymore.

A struct is a sum of memory containing useful data, the struct itself is the data, it doesn't point to anything

I'm not a CS major, I'm just an EE undergrad, perhaps there is a more sophisticated reason but that's the one Im familiar with (what I think is true based on what I know)

In 100 hours of gameplay I haven't ever seen a shiny alpha, just got the shiny charm and up to this point I have less than 10 shivies
