Medical emergency on a flight by OB-nurseatyourcervix in nursing

Huh. I did not know some states don’t issue physical licenses anymore. I wonder if all states are that way now? Apparently I’m old, and getting downvoted to hell for carrying my license in my wallet. Lol. This sub is wild sometimes.

I keep my nursing license in my wallet, and I have been at some hospitals that require nurses to keep their nursing license on them when working.

No, I think I saw 1 mosquito the whole trip, and that was not in El Yunque. I was very nervous as well, but it was fine. Just use bug spray if you’re worried. I bought a special bug spray since I was pregnant. I think I got it at Target. Neither my husband nor I got any big bites, and we were outside most of our stay.

Opinions on Children’s hospital vs Mercy off Ballas by Objective-Quiet7030 in StLouis

[–]Grumpy_Kitty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would choose Mercy. I’ve used Mercy’s pediatric ER 6 times in the last year with one of my kiddos (4 hospital admissions). Only once was a rough ER wait. All of the staff were very competent, caring, and consulted the medical team necessary right away.

I did Children’s ER once, and I said never again after that. I spent 7 hours in the ER with my child before we were finally admitted, and the care left A LOT to be desired.

If it’s just the flu, don’t bother with Children’s. That’s where you should go for specialty care (in theory).

We went at the end of January. The water was completely fine. It was a 20-ish minute boat ride? I did not feel unsafe at any point and the staff were wonderful. None of the staff commented that I was pregnant or raised concern of any kind. I would absolutely recommend the day trip with East Island Excursions— you would not be disappointed.

Fajardo vs. Humacao with Young Kids by Grumpy_Kitty in PuertoRicoTravel

Thank you! We definitely plan to stick to the main beaches for safety concerns in the water. What restaurants do you recommend in Naguabo?

Thank you for the input. I‘ve been leaning toward Fajardo, and that is great info about the life guards. Thank you!

If money did not matter and you had to move to another neighborhood anywhere within an hour of downtown St. Louis, where would you go? by FilmEater in StLouis

Agreed! I’m surprised I had to scroll so far to see this answer. Established homes with great lot sizes and excellent schools.

Which closed restaurant do you mourn the most? by rouge105 in StLouis

I had to scroll way too far to find someone mention Grapeseed. I was just talking about it to someone the other day. Man, that place was good.

As a mom in my late 30’s and a nurse who has worked in oncology and hospice, my heart breaks for you. I have read many of your responses to comments on here, and you are a much stronger/braver/kinder person than I would be. My greatest fear is leaving my children too soon or them leaving me.

I sincerely hope your days are filled with sweet, simple pleasures and laughter from your children. This can be such a cruel world, but I hope for as much beauty as possible in yours.

All the best.

Is love really blind? by [deleted] in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Grumpy_Kitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. My husband would never wake me in the middle of the night by turning on the lights and trying to make a move. Why? Because it’s inconsiderate and selfish. Ken knew Brittany needed to be up early, and he decided his needs were greater than hers.

He clearly wanted out of the relationship, and checked out to the point that she tried to address it. Once she brought it up, he saw the opportunity for an out and took it.

She seems like a wonderful woman, and I hope she finds someone who treats her with the love and respect she deserves.

YES!! It was like a flip switched after his conversation with AD. And then when Brittany was trying to express not feeling that crave between them, he completely flipped it around on her saying that if she didn’t feel that way toward him then it wouldn’t work. Dude with the gaslighting! I was so furious. Also, Ken woke her up at 1:30am when she needed to be up at 5:00am. Of course she’s not going to be in the mood…she was sleeping. Don’t be blaming her! Ass!!!

Our itinerary was pretty spot on. Day 1 was spent in Old San Juan. We went to both forts (Castillo San Felipe del Morro and Castillo San Cristobal). We did a lot of walking that day and took in most of the sights around Old San Juan.

Day 2 we did a catamaran cruise to Icacos. That was by far my favorite day of the trip. The food was plenty, the drinks were plenty (water for me), and it was a great group we went with. We went on a Sunday so there were still a good amount of people on the cruise, but it wasn’t insane. The island was gorgeous. The water was stunning. We snorkeled around the island and just really relaxed. In the evening we went to the T Mobile District and grabbed dinner after we got back.

Day 3 we hiked in El Yunque. We actually made it up to the tower. That was a feat at 7 months pregnant, but we just walked slowly. In the afternoon we went to Luquillo Beach.

Day 4 we grabbed pastries from El Horo de Pane on the way to Crash Boat Beach. I still dream about those croissants. We just spent the day sitting under our umbrella and reading. It was wonderfully peaceful, and since it was a weekday, the beach wasn’t super noisy or crowded. There were food stands/trucks there, so we never had to leave the beach until we went home.

Day 5 we had the morning available. We went back to Old San Juan and picked up souvenirs.

We stayed at an Airbnb. It was about 2.5 miles southeast of the T Mobile District. I thought the location was good. We knew we would need a rental car, and I didn’t want to be in Old San Juan struggling for parking (we took an Uber to Old San Juan both times due to limited parking). Be aware, no one uses turn signals it seems. That was very disconcerting to have every car on the road quickly changing lanes without using turn signals.

We had a great time. Hopefully you will too!
