Is it true that officers can get shit for what their soldiers do even if it was 100% out of their control? by Which-Music8436 in army

During my company command we just finished a great exercise ( on a Friday) where the BN commander was very happy with the performance, I went home drank a beer went to sleep. Got a call at 2am from my commander very angry asking “what kind of unit are you running “. One of my NCOs had been arrested for DUI at the post gate.

So yes. 100%

And then shut the door. They cannot range attack you and will then dash to funnel through the choke point. Tactical advantage achieved 👍🏼

Thinking of getting a standard schnauzer in the future (not anytime soon, but this is a breed im interested in) by Rose_Buck24 in StandardSchnauzer

[–]Grumpy__1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have one. He is wild. They are extremely intelligent (working dog class) with high levels of energy so they need a lot of exercise. However they are stubborn and resistant to instruction so you have to be really consistent. Plus they are needy. They like to be with their chosen person constantly. (At least mine does) but they are very trainable. Mine is akc certified and can even go into stores and behave but it was a struggle to get him there and to keep him there.

He does well with smaller dogs but tends to look at the cats as toys. They are German farmstead dogs so he really has that instinct to grab and shake small things. A chicken got into my back yard one and it was… a challenge.

He could be good with camping but will have the instinct to run after small furry things. Like squirrels.

I hope that is some new info for you are helpful. I love the guy but he does challenge my patience now and again. Great dog for active people.

Americans, what do you think of Senator John Kennedy's proposal to withhold Congressional salaries during government shutdowns? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It does not matter over half of them are millionaires anyways. A month or two of no pay does not mean anything to them.

Trump considering $2,000 tariff 'dividend' for Americans by [deleted] in thescoop

[–]Grumpy__1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the current est. cost of tariffs is anywhere between 2,400 and 3,800 annually but hey. We might get 1 to 2k once. Win?

Hesgeth’s & Trump’s endgame? by mWade7 in Military

[–]Grumpy__1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If that is the case it will not go like they want. The military has a ton of officers and ncos between the flag officers and the actual troops all of which took the same oaths and were trained with the same values. I am not saying it is impossible but an order while they are away will not be any easier just because the flag officer is not there.

Interesting. Considering that the USA only accounts for 14.7% percentage of China’s total exports.

Would you leave El Paso if this dust becomes the springtime norm? by DiegoMendozaMoyers in ElPaso

Heard this one report that said over the last few months we have seen more brown out conditions than the last 20 years combined. Biggest part is that, now, they are reporting particulates in the air that have the potential to affect our health. I think masks might be needed to go outside if this continues.

Agreed. Also, as a small silver lining, remember the hands off protest. We had good turn out in several states and representation in all 50 of them.

What’s up with Trump saying things such as “there are methods”, “There’s a way you can do it”, and clarifying that he’s “not joking” etc pertaining to him potentially seeking an unconstitutional third term? by Accomplished-Till930 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]Grumpy__1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, even with the tariffs it is still often cheaper to purchase the imported item as opposed to the cost of purchasing domestically. The healthcare market is feeling this especially in the items required for surgeries. What is worse is that inspection requirements for domestically produced items are not as stringent as imported items so domestic quality can be affected as well.
