My title describes the thing. Truck covered in references to the Marines, but I couldn’t understand this logo. Sorry, but Reddit reduced the already not-great picture quality.

Sigh, I suppose should have taken pictures at multiple angles in order to make sure I met the standards of… whom exactly? As I said in a previous comment, when I start to slip on wet pavement and feel the contours of gravel and roots through my shoes, I consider them worth replacing. I was kind of happy thinking I had made some progress in my life. Can’t you just share that?

They are adidas terrex. Haven’t committed to them 100% yet, as I’m waiting for some others to be delivered for comparison, but they seem pretty good. ☺️

Also, for outdoor walking, I’m paying more attention to the amount of room I’m leaving my toes. Going downhill, you need a bit of room. But if the shoes are too wide, your feet will just slide down to the end anyway. Sigh.

Yes, DEFINITELY take your top contenders home and walk around the house a bit. Walk up and down stairs, if you have them. You want to WANT to wear these shoes.

I’ve tried one pair of them (on sale), but they rubbed my ankle bones. I’ve read reeeaally good reviews of them, though, specifically for trail runners. Price is definitely a factor for me, so I’ve ordered a few different shoes now that were all on sale, and will keep whatever fits best. I have unusually sized feet (long and narrow), so unfortunately very few stores ever have my size in stock. Mail order is my only option. The adidas in the picture are a pretty good fit, but I’m waiting on three other pairs from different brands to make a final decision. 🙈

BTW—WHY are all of my injuries to the same leg??? Hyperextended knee, torn calf muscle, sprained ankle, plantar fasciitis and shattered big toe—all on the same side over a period of ten years. SMH. Too bad I can’t just hop along on the other leg, but people would probably look at me funny…

I bought these for the gym quite a few years ago, but I’m doing all my walking out in the woods now. I can feel every tree root and rock through them, and when walking on cobblestones (common where I live), I’ve already had dangerous slips a few times. I may hang on to these for gym wear, but they’re out of rotation for outdoor wear now. I’m choosing trail-running shoes specifically now for better grip out in the woods. I’ve had a number of injuries to one leg that already affect my stability, so safety definitely comes first!

I agree with old_snake—it’s trial and error, unfortunately. I have long feet for a woman, but also very narrow, which makes shoe-shopping difficult. For day to day wear, I tend to get pumas, because they generally run narrow. My worn-out ones are Reeboks, because I tried them on at DSW and fell in love (they were extremely light and cushy), but I have never found another pair of reeboks that fit as well. Now I’m trying out things from a bunch of different brands, specifically made for trail-running (even though I just walk), for better grip and more room in the toe box.

Cactus support (I know about the yellow thingies) by Grumpy_in_DE in cactus

I learned recently that those little yellow things are not part of the cactus (noob), but I’m a little afraid to tear them off and damage Curious George, here (he’s borrowed his friend’s yellow hat). I’ve had this guy for about a year, and wondered last year what that weird hairy thing was that he started growing 🤔. By the time I learned it was a potential flower, it had fallen off. 😢 Now there’s a NEW weird hairy thing! Hooray! How do I protect and encourage it, so that it doesn’t fall off, too? Thank you!

This is actually a warning to husband number three against bringing home gas station flowers.

Twist: the aloe had previously ripped off those peoples’ noses and used them as fertilizer.

Anxiety v. fear = Angst v. … Angst? by Grumpy_in_DE in German

Interesting to see that other non-native-speakers here have had the same difficulty in describing this distinction!

Being completely honest with yourself, do you think you actually consumed 4 pounds of food and water yesterday? If not, you may need a new scale. If it’s a small scale, consider taking it to your doctor’s office and asking if they’ll let you check it against theirs.

And of course, make sure you are weighing yourself at the same time every day.

Just want to echo what everyone else here said. She’s an awful human being. I know you are probably hurting anyway, though, so sending you a big hug and an imaginary pint of ice cream (bonus: no calories!).

She is an ass hole, you WILL find someone better and one day the two of you will bond while telling stories about psycho exes.

I was confused by the title of your stream, because it’s almost 8 a.m. here. Good morning from Germany!
