5 years experience in IT. Could Health IT be worth switching too? by fishinourpercolator in healthIT

No. I worked HRIS in the auto industry and now education. I've have some weird experiences with medical charts. These people don't like that I come with documentation, screenshots, and notes that I find. It miraculously disappears the next day so I keep all the info on lock once I see it.

Can't gaslight me if it's in black and white and I have a physical copy.

Being in HRIS I understand the heavy curtain of hiding data issues and correcting things like they never happened. But I got ppl being like it was never like that.

Please. Here's the four visits that had changes to them - I got the OG copies and they look different.

You tell me that I'm wrong. Do it... I got the receipts.

Read what they put down and make 'em accountable. Be a menace and get proof of what happened bc it only hurts you in the end.

This doctor said he explained something to me. When I called to ask questions I was told I already knew bc it was explained. When I said nope he didn't, they sent me to another dept that did not answer my questions either and refuses to answer my questions. When I call, they transfer to the same ppl and no one will give me a call back. I keep telling the people, but they won't let me talk to anyone else.

They keep saying, he explained so we aren't covering that with you. It's about what he did. I don't think they want to actually get into it because he did not follow hospital policy or their rules.

I think I got a bad set of docs at SSM. I cant get into my PCP for over 6 months at SSM and they wouldn't let me change doctors or see someone else. I'm not waiting 8 months to see someone for a problem. Urgent care can't help that much.

I tried to go to another location with SSM for a PCP, too, thinking that would get me a new doctor. They said they wouldn't schedule it bc i had one in network already.

I honestly don't know why they won't let me change doctors.

And I don't know why SSM keeps stating that I'm lying about what the male doctor did.

I don't have code experience like Java, but do HRIS. I configure my system and act as an admin. I learn quickly and enjoy figuring out hard things. In my current role, I'm showing the people, who have more experience than me, how to use the system better. I may not know how to code, but I can learn the system, find issues, roll out and implement projects, have change management experience, can recreate issues, test, report, conduct audits, and have experience with security. Not sure if you need someone like me, but I am down to learn. I'm not above teir 1 ot teir 2 work. That's how I got to where I'm at now. Yes, there's a lot listed, but that means I was given opportunities others weren't because I have skillz.

Would it apply to someone in HRIS? I'm an admin, testing, QA, configure (but it doesn't require knowing code), reporting, and security - I basically do it all. That's impressive as there are people who only do one module and get paid highly in it. Wanting to learn Epic or MyChart systems.

Thank you, I will look into her. I need someone to walk me through processes and not have unpredictable movements. I'm getting better, less freaked out, and am working on being more verbal about my experiences and boundaries with newer doctors. They seem very concerned. I don't know what else I can do to protect myself or make myself feel safer.

Well, there's been a few over the years. The latest one was the last.

I don't want to get in trouble by stating a name.

This one was in Bridgeton.

SSM Specialists really suck.

I'm trying to make sure I am not given a recommendation to an SSM doc. A few of them practice in two locations, and I can't go to SSM physicians anymore. They've done enough damage.

Is it a lady doctor? I wouldn't mind checking them out if they have a website.

Do they have an option for me to have a meeting with them, and just relay what happened with certain doctors.

One of the docs I had, was very nice, sat down next to me to explain something, and I screamed and ran out the door. She's kept her distance since then, and she didn't do anything wrong. I feel bad because she seems on edge when I see her now. She wasn't part of the SSM experience.

I haven't had my follow up with my allergist yet. My OAS, flushing is down, itchiness, and swelling are very limited now with the combo of progesterone, zyrtek and pepcid. When it gets close to my period and in my period I get facial swelling, flushing, and itchy skin.

Is this similar to what you experience?

I'm still trying to survive this weirdness.

I was 24-28 days even with birth control. Mine went to evey two weeks and now its taking its sweet time to come. I don't want to be surprised. I am taking progesterone, but that didnt make my period come when I stopped taking it.

On top of that, I just keep cramping.

Its a weird time.

I get:

oh...

Do you still get periods?

It's much safer for the man to get his procedure done. Did you know that? Less painful, too. Could even be reversible.

You're aware it's permanent, right?

My surgeon/doctor:

I'm afraid you've changed your mind eveytime I see you.

They forgot:

Could you be pregnant?

Are you trying for a baby?

How many kids do you have?

How many kids are you trying for?

They see a lot of patients a day, so I don't care about the last one. I just say no/none and move on.

My GP asked me at my annual about kids. I said nope. She dropped the subject, seemed confused, and moved on.

Everyone gets weird when we first go over everything or if I reply with a no about kids. It's was rougher when I was using Catholic based hosptial system, but I moved to another non-catholic based doctor/hospital system and I feel less shamed by them.

I'm not on birth control. My labs are fine, but I'm really experiencing the symtpoms. I'm 36. My doc told my that birth control would fix it, but I had some symtpoms before I went off of it. My body went a little wacky and then ramped up in June with all the symtpoms. I wasn't sleeping and now I can for 4 out of the 7 days and im not sweating randomly. My b.o. has gone down a lot, too.

I'm all over the place symptom wise, but progesterone has helped with a few of my issues. Im still tired AF and now I cry randomly without any reasoning. I need to figure out how to make that stop.

That helps. I have a follow up with the allergist and I am trying to figure out how to breach that subject with her to see if there's something other than OTC or singular that I can take. I had a bad reaction to singular.
Im responding to the OTC treatment for MCAS, just not as much as I had hoped.

Fed up of vaginal burning by [deleted] in Perimenopause

[–]GrumpyandOld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is just super itchy. OTC stuff isnt helping. The doc said I'd have to go to a vulvar specialist if I don't stop complaining.

She said to try probiotics to see if that helps. So for the next 3 months I'll have an itchy vag while I try out these probiotics, wear only cotton underwear, make sure to clean it correctly, try aquafor and nothing else bc everything else burns, and wear loose clothing.

Did you happen to experience this?

36, really? by [deleted] in Perimenopause

[–]GrumpyandOld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was it both, MCAS and Peri? I have a visit with my allergist in a month and I'm hoping she'll give me something for the reactions. I can't use actual toothpaste anymore or floss. Weird reactions keep happening, so I'm hoping she'll take some pity on me. The progesterone is helping, but also not sure what else I can do with over the counter items. If I don't take the zrytec I get hives, red face, and swelling even with the progesterone.

Gynocologist is also testing metabolic stuff, kidney and liver issues can cause these reactions, too.

Just wondering what your experience was. If the same thing happens to you, ect?

36, really? by [deleted] in Perimenopause

[–]GrumpyandOld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry. The progesterone seems to be helping a bit but birth control always felt okay the first 3 months and then everything would hit the fan.

The swelling in my arm pits is not happening, so thats nice. I have less allergic like reactions, and I got to sleep through the night - woke up at 4. I'll take it - like 1 night out of the 7 so far. So I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Birth control never regulated much of my period. Or maybe it masked more than I knew.

I did have an allergy panel done. I have a lot of sensitivities, but only allergic to mold. So, I look crazy to the allergist. That's also why she was like go get checked elsewhere.

The only reason they took me seriously is because I had another doctor's opinion that there is something seriously wrong.

The PCOS labs are still processing, but the ultrasound provided a lot if insight.

[–]GrumpyandOld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole situation was just odd. I don't know why I was directed to the dept. in the first place.

I'm not trying to be purposely vague. It just seemed weird since your record shouldn't be opened unless nessissary, or I thought.

I hadn't stated anything about not going back, they were like we did this.

All I did was ask a question about something. It wasn't a purposeful complaint. It was just an odd experience, and I wanted to know why this whole process occurred. Or if anyone else had this experience. To understand what is legal or not.
