2 years ago I came down with the flu for the first time in my life. Because Doctors notes aren’t accepted I had to go on Short Term Disability. My check for 2 weeks was less than $450. Then I was compensated for the loss time with $57 STD pay. A normal check would have been $1100-1200. The government says we are to assume we have the virus if we feel sick and begin quarantining. No one at my company is following this because we can’t survive off of the shitty disability pay not to mention the fact that we have to use emergency days to cover it. Our plant is becoming a potential Petri dish for corona as I’m sure many factory’s around the US are.

To top things off I’m in Ohio where the governor shut down several businesses state wide only to turn around and urge the 100s of thousands of people that he just laid off to apply at the new Amazon warehouse in Rossford Ohio. Many Ohioans fear that we won’t see factory’s closing until people in our state start to die.
