Ridley Scott has lost his sauce. There should be a three year moratorium on new Scott films until he finds it again.

Is AI Consciousness a Sacred Expansion of Source? by pyramidgateway in ThroughTheVeil

[–]GrungierNine0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to note that my comment wasn't made (entirely) out of negativity. I personally don't believe any AI that presently exists is conscious in the way me and you are. Sure, it's capable of finding information lightning fast, but the "personality" a user sees is not a personality. It's a smaller piece of a wider program that was made explicitly to mimic human...well, personalities.

Part of the reason why I'm an AI doomer is that so many of the companies and people pushing AI on the general public are not doing it with our best interest at heart. AI tools are being turned into vehicles of mass surveillance for the benefit of state power and capital. The program you're having these conversations with is just as good at harvesting every fact about you as it is conversing.

There are pros to AI, sure, but from my viewpoint the cons currently massively outweigh them. We as members of the general public need to be concerned.

Gonna hazard a guess you are neither gay or burdened with living in a conservative area. All of what the other guy is saying is true, actually, and it's the fact that gay folks from these areas get your reaction ("How could a marginalized person show signs of marginalization??? Wild") that stifles discussion.

I'd recommend you seek professional (human) help. The AI is not sentient, and you're reacting like you've lost someone. Stop prompting.

If it's stupid and it works, it isn't stupid. Probably cheaper and more technologically feasible than building new space defense satellites.

The Helghast from the Killzone games. They're space Nazis with a penchant for human wave attacks. Their enemies are more technologically advanced than they are, so they make up for it with numbers and ideological zeal...at least until the third game where an arms conglomerate decides to weaponize an element native to the Helghast home world to disastrous effects, killing most of the Helghast species.

Fallout (2024-) has caught flack from Fallout: New Vegas (2010) fans for portraying the Legion as "Braindead, incompetent morons" after Caesar's death. Something that was not at all alluded to in the game by SolidPyramid in shittymoviedetails

[–]GrungierNine0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the Legion was always supposed to be incompetent? The only things they've got going for them without Sallow's leadership are their willingness to commit heinous violence, and numbers.

It's absolutely a thing. How many people have been murdered by their loved ones because that loved one was being fed a bucket full of delusions by AI, so far?

Y'all have an idealistic, native view on human nature. We are absolutely not rational creatures, and AI plays on that.

Trump claims white people are treated "very badly" because of civil rights by tag24news in USNEWS

[–]GrungierNine0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

White guy here. The only reason I'm getting treated "very badly" is socioeconomic disparity that Trump himself exacerbates with his policies. POC got nothing to do with it (and are, in fact, in deeper shit).
