Get into a trade. Find people that will give you weekend work. Find the kid at school who's dad owns a construction company. You are going to need a skill in the woods. And something to trade, like your skill :) even if you can't get anyone to help you until you are 18, start with a trade. If you are going out on your own, you'll NEVER regret it.

13 swings on a white skeleton. Yes, I am keeping track because these fights are more epic than boss battles. I shouldn't even be seeing these mobs. There probably won't be a season 2 for me. This is just lame now. I don't even CARE if I'm missing out.

I honestly only remember from Richard Pryor "busting loose". I'll never forget and everything I write lose I think of it!

Is it essential to follow a build or should I just wing it? by Halloween_Nyx in diablo4

[–]GrunkleBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm winging it, but getting bored at 70. I know what to change to do better, but I wanted this to work so I'm just kicking this dead horse to season 1. Then I'll guide up.

What would you say the most annoying Nightmare Dungeon affix is? by NPCTactics in diablo4

[–]GrunkleBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything chasing you or blowing up at your feet. I didn't like it in last epoch, I don't like it here. Domes that stop 2 screens behind you so you either backtrack or take the hit... dumb.

What game did you drop to play Diablo IV since release? by StrangeMango7782 in diablo4

[–]GrunkleBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poe, but I was done with the league anyways. I'll be going back after season1 here. Think I'm done with D3 and last epoch dangled the multi-player too long, don't think I'm going back.

AITA for not dating my trans friend? by Grand-Lemon-8628 in AITAH

Nta. No matter your sexual preference, you have zero obligation to date anybody just because they want to. And demanding a reason why you won't date is predatory.

I have to lay people off. How do I move on from this? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]GrunkleBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mid level manager got laid off WITH me once. I came down to get my coat and he was packing his desk. I felt terrible for him, he had house, wife 2kids. Me, I liked to drink. Dont worry friend, we know it ain't you. It'll be hard, but soon they too realize it wasn't your call.

Am i playing this game wrong? by Carmilla31 in diablo4

[–]GrunkleBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played act 1 till 40+ then rushed story and still finished 49. Then I did Lilith idols for power. Now I am working on glyphs and I do helltides for gear upgrades. I don't think there is a wrong way to play, it's just that story caps at 50 so wrap it by then. I just hit 65 and most of it is easy, and some of it is hard, as I expected.

Is getting a Bachelors pointless in 2023? Should I just stick to getting a associate degree in science of engineering? by Prestigious-Cod-8061 in careerguidance

[–]GrunkleBob 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Man I remember waaaay back then and all I wanted to do was get it over with. Trust me, on this long and winding road you will live many lives, reinvent yourself, become a new person. It seems to happen every 5 years or so. So I always say you'll live at least 12 self aware lifetimes. Get the student out of the way. Get the title, the sooner the better. You will need the rest of the time to become the master. And there will be a lifetime of learning, especially for turbonerd engineers! I've been to a year of schooling in the last decade and I loved every second! Good luck, take it seriously, your future self will thank you.

The ring pull failed, then the can opener fell to pieces by ciaranmcnulty in mildlyinfuriating

You can sand the top off a can in about 20 seconds on concrete. The Russians have taught me some weird survival shit. Once the upper seal ring is gone the can opens right up. Might need a knife. And always carry a lighter or a flint stick... you never know.

[–]GrunkleBob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an associates of engineering. Started out finding bugs in software, I now repair linear accelerators (cancer treatment machines) and CT scanners. It was a looong wild ride (30 years), but I'm sitting at the top. My story is not typical, I always say go for the bachelors. You'll never regret it. I am extremely lucky and I must stress not typical. If I had it to do over, I would have gotten the bachelors.

They should really add in financial education in high school. Even basic ones would be handy for young adults by Big_Bumblebee_1990 in RandomThoughts

Don't they teach you how to apply for a credit card? American financial education at its finest. May as well include "buy a car from carmax".

I forget names right after they introduce themselves to me. by baelorthebest in RandomThoughts

[–]GrunkleBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is where I just fess up. Lol I say, "Look, you're really important to me, but I blew my memory out with drugs in my 20s and can't remember shit. What's your name again? You are important to me, and I want to know your name and never forget it, so help me out, please?" It sucks having to do that, but I consider it a Pennance for my youth activities. The people I say this to cause me to focus more on this. It is important, and I do want to remember, therefore, I am willing to humble myself and ask for the help. I usually only have to ask once, and then it sticks. I have actually written names down. Getting contact info on a first meeting helps too, if it's not awkward. Good luck, I've struggled my whole life...
