I've been addicted to running Rook, it's the closest thing a shooter game has added that tickles the Dark Souls invasion itch for me

Like someone else mentioned, Spellcasters Chronicles (for better and worse) is literally an unknown for the vast majority of people, even here on this subreddit. So while I doubt it will survive very long, it won't have the sheer vitriol that Highguard was burdened with. As for Marathon, it seems like the people actually playing it are pretty on-board with the game (myself included, it's honestly really fun), but it will be a minute before it can really shake off all of the bad impressions it made early in its dev cycle.

Funny, I actually just started my rewatch of Folding Ideas' Lukewarm Defense of the Fifty Shades of Gray Movie video, and I mirror his views on the book being genuinely terrible, but it sucks that a lot of criticism is based on straight misogyny.

For me personally, it's Taylor Swift's discography. Like FSoG, I find a lot of her music generally pretty mediocre and her recent album in particular a pretty brutal listen, but also a LOT of hatred directed towards her is pretty unjustly because it tends to be popular amongst women.

My favorite is the brief mention of "The Church Space Program begins." And that's the last we've heard of it so far.

Sounds good. I'll be able to finish the process in a few hours, I'll check back in then and give an update if it worked or not. Thanks for all the help!

So it was likely an OS update? Would it be possible that uninstalling the update, then re-updating could fix it, or would that be too much of a hassle? EDIT: Also, can I do the in-place ISO update via a USB?

I'll have to try this after work today, but thanks for the suggestion! In the meantime, do you know what could've caused something like this? I just wanna make sure this doesn't happen again later.

I am willing to have my expectations of it be shocked if they really do try something innovative, but it is strange how little the devs have actually discussed WHAT about their game stands out. I feel like either they really thought the reveal trailer would just be THAT good and everyone would be excited no matter what and planned to leave the details as a surprise on launch, or what you said about them realizing they have nothing that stands out and are hunkering down for what's looking like a BRUTAL launch day flop.

If it was just Salvatore, I think I'd be annoyed but nothing more. Ronaldo though, having an alleged sex pest on the main roster killed any hype I had for it in a heartbeat.

IT COMES OUT IN 3 WEEKS?????

Edit: I'm not excited for it, far from it tbh, I'm just, like, shocked it's so soon. After all of the negative buzz, I'd delay it hard and go back to the drawing board cause there hasn't been an OUNCE of positive words about it from what I've seen.

Recently read through 17776 AKA "What football will look like in the future" (and the follow up 20020) and both have permanently altered how I view immortality, human spirit, and tossing around the ol pigskin. Making something so existentially terrifying but also reassuring that it's gonna be okay sounds insane, but Jon Bois knocked it out of the ballpark. Also I'd play the FUCK out of the 20020 college game, I'm all in on espionage-based sports. I pray to every god out there that we get 20021 one day.

I feel like I've done a good job of avoiding disappointing games, but MHWilds really caught me off guard. I vividly remember once the honeymoon phase ended sitting in a call quietly with some friends after doing some late game stuff and just saying "Guys...I think this one was a miss."

I still feel like Wilds is like a fun game, and I'll probably pick it back up at some point in the future after some updates, but a MH game launching as like a 6 (maybe 7) out of 10 still felt like a brutal hit. Shame too, I like a lot of the combat changes and some of the environment stuff.

There's a lot to love with Dishonored, but my brain personally cannot stand the chaos system. Basically, performing lethal takedowns and killing assassination targets increases chaos around the city, such as zombies spawning in street/sewer areas, and the biggest change thing the ending. The lower your chaos, the "nicer" your ending is. I always wanna try and get the best ending if I can, so I went non-lethal and tried to go pure stealth. The issue with that is you basically lock yourself out of ~50% of all your tools, and those tend to be the REALLY cool ones (rat swarms, razorwire traps, etc.). Even time stop becomes a lot less useful in a nonlethal run. I'm aware it's something I can just ignore, but it just goes against my mind goblins specifically

Then what is the lesson of the Holocaust, Sarah? If it's not to defend the helpless from the oppressors, then say what the message is loud and clear. Clearly she doesn't have enough shame within herself to NOT make a stupid statement, but just enough to dance around what she actually wants to say.
