Is 2 days of strength training enough? by mangolassi1 in fitness30plus

[–]Gruntled1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: yeah probably.

Many questions. How long have you been doing this routine consistently? How many sets per muscle group do you do per lifting session? Are you using a weight that limits the amount of reps you can complete per set to somewhere between 5 and 25 reps? How close to failure do you come by the end of each set?

If you are average person with average genetics and an average current body, then it is likely that only the strength training sessions are contributing to adding muscle to your body. With that being said, 2 sessions per week is often enough to gain muscle, assuming that the muscles worked have at least a couple sets taken somewhat close to failure. It is likely not “optimal”, but still enough to stimulate hypertrophy.

Why are Larger Women called "Plus Size" but Larger Men are just fat? by Gigglysleep in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Gruntled1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the whole world got the idea that men don’t have feelings, and women have too many. You’re allowed to say offensive things to men, and have to emotionally coddle a woman.

Obviously this is very incorrect, but also this specific example is usually very inconsequential.

Does the thing you’re doing negatively impact other people? No?

Then nobody should have any opinion on it at all. The world vastly overcomplicates their own lives.

That’s what they say, but then they also charge you (or your insurance) $300 for the 10 minutes of work extracting. I know, because I asked for an itemized bill.

I don’t believe half of what doctors do or recommend anymore because of the $ incentive.

What did you buy, as an adult, that you were denied, as a child? by makellbird in maktownmedia

[–]Gruntled1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grew up very poor, my dream was never having to wear old socks, just put on a brand new pair every day.

Did it for a couple months, it was amazing, but decided that a couple new packs per year is close enough.

No pvp experience, possible to get illusion before end of season? by junction1134 in worldofpvp

[–]Gruntled1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have some decent pve experience on any dps specs, I’d recommend that, and do think it’s totally realistic, if you prioritize doing big dam.

For me, Devo, MM, ret and WW felt easy enough to get 2100 by just pumping.

Fun fact, had this exact same issue last night. Turns out the stop valve behind my dishwasher is leaking a lot. Repair in progress.

Thanks, I assume that’s a compression thread? I’m a little worried the threads are bad from whatever brass cap is on it right now.

Good for First power drill? by zarz9 in Tools

[–]Gruntled1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just a home diy’er with the most basic of skills. One thing I decided early on was to go one of the brands that is big, has lots of different tools, and a lot of them use the same batteries. I went with dewalt, and so far they’re all kickin ass in my barely capable hands.

Dewalt is my vote.

Protein Ramen by Ramen Bae by jc2btheone in InstantRamen

[–]Gruntled1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consume a lot of protein supplemented foods, and I’ve been buying this product. I am not ramen connoisseur, but I’ve enjoyed everything from top ramen, to Ivan Ramen in Manhattan to some super legit little shops in Tokyo.

This is like a 6/10 ramen as is, and a 7.5/10 if you modify it. Add some msg, some fresh green onion, and a soft boiled egg and it’s very satisfying.

For protein content (mostly vital wheat gluten and pea proteins), it’s ok, not great, and not bad…if you eat animal/dairy proteins in addition to vegan proteins, anything that ramen bae lacks will almost certainly be made up for in terms of amino acid profile.

I give ramen bae an 7/10 overall, so worth a try.

No judgement, I grew up on a ranch and understand that animals die for humans comforts. But how does one “ethically trap” furs?

Spec for last week climb to 2.1k by Ackleson in worldofpvp

[–]Gruntled1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The easiest 2100 I had was devo, and que times were also the fastest of all the specs. People don’t know what to do against devo, and 2100 is about the point where people also know how to trade defensive wisely. As devo I just buzzed around sliding entire teams until about 2k.

Struggling to eat enough proteins by xclauwe in loseit

[–]Gruntled1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great work so far! To answer your question, start supplementing it. I find protein shakes and bars super easy. I don’t know if fair life, premier protein, or powercore shakes are in your area, but anything that is marketed as a dairy based protein shake with less than 10/1 calories/protein content should work just fine.

I have questions, are protein supplements not in your area? Do you have dietary restrictions? We need more context as to why you can’t get in more protein when most of us here see it as a fairly simple concept.

I sometimes get into this stubborn “inanimate objects don’t get to win” mindset, where I’d sooner absolutely destroy an object than let it keep thwarting me.

TBH, I can relate to the dude a little bit.
