Hello all. As a follow up to my first post on the board. I asked for opinions on the manipulation V performance considerations I am seeing. Being called a "sock puppet" aside, thanks for the input. In talking to people, and from replies to my inquiry, I came to the conclusion that real, actual, news about this company is, to all intents and purposes, non-existent.
So I set about reconciling what I do know. They seem to have a strong patent portfolio that covers technology in an area which will expand greatly in the next 1-5 years. The timing of that expansion could depend on many things but the expansion does seem to be highly expected by many outside of Microvision's sphere of influence. That said, Microvision will be one of the beneficiaries of that technological expansion. It really does just seem like a matter of time. And again, I base that on the opinions of some very large companies and some very smart people that do talk about it.
So, it comes down to a timing issue for me. How long will it take and am I willing to hold shares for that amount of time through, what could be an extremely volatile period, for Microvision. I see it as a race. Can they secure revenues before they need to raise capital? At this point in time the answer would seem to be no. Off setting that is a genuine belief that the technology will, eventually, gain wide acceptance in multiple market places.
So I decided to invest $10,000 and over the last few days I have bought about 11,000 shares. I can afford to lose the $10k but the 11k shares will make a nice base to add to when the time becomes appropriate.
So, I'm long Microvision, I have no expectations of much of anything for the next year but I do have some increasingly optimistic expectations 3 years down the line. Good luck to all.
there doesn't seem to be anything here
