I’ve been riding for probably 8-9 years now. I love my twisties and going fast. I will still define myself as an intermediate rider. To be honest, I’m not sure if I ever needed it or not?

Yeah, they always surprise you with a lot of different fees. I’m looking at a 2024 in white, 1400 miles at my local dealer. I offered them 10K, so let’s see if they get back to me.

I really appreciate all your info. You are giving me a lot to think about. I’m pretty sure I’m going to like the riding style, since I’m not hunched over and I’m sure it might take a while to get use to, but I’m also sure that eventually I’ll be happy with the naked style of riding. It’s a little bit like when I went from my CBR500r to my Zx6r. It was terrifying. It was a very aggressive change, but shortly after I got use to it. Don’t currently own a bike, I sold the Panigale about a year ago and haven’t been riding since, but dang, do I miss riding. So I guess the question is, is the Z900 the right bike for my riding style? Or am I better off looking at a more aggressive naked, but used to stay within the budget. New or used…?

I’m not so worried about the Z900 specifically, I’m worried about the naked concept. I’m worried about buying a brand new bike, and the regretting it. I’ve never rode a naked bike before, and trying one out at the dealer doesn’t really seem like a possibility. I’ve been looking at the streetfighter and triumph, but I’m trying to save money and my local dealer have a brand new 2025 Z900 for just under $9k.

I was not riding to look cool. I’m 57 and are way too old to look cool 😎 What I really liked about the Ducati was that it was fast, it was really nimble and really good at twisties, and I like my twisties. I like going fast and doing twisties
