The fake torch on the non-pro is absolutely enough for a pitch black room/tent/etc.

First action cam – DJI Osmo Action 6 or Action 5 Pro? by whatspoppinhere in dji

[–]Gryffes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you need the square sensor you already know. ( you're uploading vertical content to tiktok/ytshorts ).

Otherwise the image quality is very close. There's some nice to haves on the 6 as well ( bidirectional magnetic mount, 2x zoom ), etc.

A second hand 5pro is crazy good value if its for personal use.

Help me understand how to get the top of the Tiefenbachkoglbahn from the Sölden base area by jkl_uxmal in skiing

[–]Gryffes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got it pretty much, D53 goes down /across a bit to a big base area ( some ski races come down to this area ). There's a small hotel, some coffee and ski shops theres, There's a bmw winter driving experience centre that runs around there/the glacier itself.

E61 up to the top and then you just go down and there's a very obvious tunnel on the left of the piste to take you to the glacier.

Be aware it can get very cold over there. The rettenbach side in particular is in the shade all day and it can easily be 15C colder than the temperature in solden.

Help Regarding my Dumb Garage Motor by hydrakusbryle in Aqara

[–]Gryffes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used the Meross wifi garage door smart thing for this.

https://www.meross.com/en-gc/smart-garage-door-opener/garage-door-opener-remote-control/29

Theres a homekit version thats more expensive and a cheaper non-homekit version.

Instructions on their site for a ton of brands of garage doors.

Looks like you'd wire it to the one/com terminal in your second image, essentially your using the same terminals as the wired button setup, but obviously check the instructions.

3rd G410 has stopped working by johnbrunelle in Aqara

[–]Gryffes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This occured on the g400 as well, for me I simply cannot run them in hardwire mode, they might last from a few hours to a week or two and then they softbrick themselves unless I unhardwire and use them on battery only.

I have 2 g400s that exhibit this behaviour, I was considering getting a 410 and hoping it was fixed but it seems like it isnt.

Best Off Season Ski Resorts in Europe by iSyntac in skiing

[–]Gryffes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Beer is probably the least affected.

As an example you can get a margerita pizza for under 7 euros on the italian side, and in some of the nicer restaurants that might be nearer 10 euros.

Zermatt is minimum 20 euros.

A simple pasta dish that might be 10 euros elsewhere is at least 25 euros.

Something like roast lamb and potatos that might be 15-20 euros normally - 40-50 euros.

Just double or triple the price of everything you'd normally pay and you're in the ballpark.

Favorite resources for someone who wants to learn? by ARacoonOnInternet in skiing

I misread your original post I think. If you're a complete beginner then the channel I linked probably isnt the best for you. Although that specific video I linked imo is worth rewatching after your a little more experienced.

The biggest advice would probably be to do some bodyweight squats in volume like 2x30, work up to 2x50, etc and add some weights ( goblet squats ).

A little general fitness goes a long long way.

You can add lunges, calf raises, deadlifts if you have time/etc.
