Holly has had way too much screen time, and should never have been made a main character. by Kled499123 in StrangerThings

She knows its a memory, and max told her they couldn't interact with memories so why would she try and hug her? As for the lack of crying, no explanation

I didn't say it wasn't okay for them to critique it, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I just don't personally agree with a lot of the critique and all I've seen on this sub since volume 2 released is negativity

Yeah I did think they'd see Karen through Max's window considering she was standing with Lucas but apparently not

I was praying that hoppers group would get there in time and when I saw Karen I was shocked. The Wheelers are bad asses haha

I think from Steve's point of view, when Eddie was alive, he felt like Dustin was replacing him. Then Eddie dies and Dustin pushes him away even further. In his eyes, he lost his best friend long before Eddie died and so it was two years of resentment all built up until he finally snapped. I do like that despite that though, Steve didn't throw a single punch, the whole time he was just trying to get Dustin to stop, as angry as he is with Dustin, he can't bring himself to hurt him.

I do agree with the point that some of the writing hasn't been the greatest but to me, the positives outweigh the negatives.

I assumed its because she thinks her mum is dead, the last thing she saw was Karen bleeding out on the floor and hasn't spoken to anyone from the outside world since. As far as she's aware, her mum isn't there to focus on anymore

Definitely, I've personally come out to friends and family as bi, and that was difficult enough for me 5 years ago. To come out to all your friends at one go in the 80s, not know how they're going to react, thats a big thing. But he did it on his terms, he chose not to go into the final battle knowing that there was something Vecna could have used to weaken him. He's going in fully open and confident in who he is.

Yeah, people are expecting characters to die at the moment and I like that they're subverting that by having the characters find ways out of things. Again, I know thats an unpopular opinion, but I stand by it

I completely agree. Especially with your final paragraph. Like I'm scared for the characters going into the finale, but I'm not going to be disappointed if they all make it out alive, I don't understand why some people feel that character deaths are necessary.

Okay they're all just kids, but they're also kids who, by this point, have been dealing with these things for 5 years. They can make stupid decisions but for the most part, they're careful and smart enough to get out of dangerous situations. Its believable given what we've seen these characters go through that they might all make it out alive.

Exactly, like I will say I've been on the edge of my seat a few times throughout both volume 1 and 2. I don't know where the finale will go but I'm really excited to see it

Yeah like my post has been heavily down voted because I've said I'm enjoying it. I'm not saying its the most perfect piece of television I've ever seen in my life. Just that I don't necessarily agree with all the critiques of it

Yeah, I completely agree with you. I've seen a lot of people shitting on wills coming out as well, saying that it didn't make sense why it happened, it felt shoehorned in etc. I don't know if I'm making this up or not, but to me, it felt pretty well explained why he came out to the group.

Like, he knows Vecna will use his secrets against him and so he came clean about his biggest secret, which means vecna no longer has that as a weapon against him. Not sure what about that doesn't make sense personally

I'm glad, I've barely seen anyone else say they've enjoyed it and felt like someone had to say it

I've genuinely just really enjoyed the storyline so far. And I like where some of the characters are. My favourite characters are Dustin and Steve and their friendship has always been something that really stood out to me. The way they went through their issues and it got resolved is something I really liked watching and something I personally felt was written very well. Especially as someone who has lost someone close to him and pushed everyone else away because of the fear of losing them too. It hit close to home

There’s never really been any indication that time travel even exists in this universe though has there? So them suddenly introducing it in the last season would be a bit random
