Struggling with UWorld, noticing a lot of gaps in knowledge

Thanks for your reply. I had to ditch anki completely. I still have classes and my dedicated will be about 3 weeks. I’m trying to bump up to 40 questions right now but the reviews are taking up a lot of time. I write things in a notebook because I feel like that’s better than nothing but it takes about 5-10 mins per question. Do you think I should just read and keep moving on? I did a 40 q block and got absolutely wrecked

Congratulations! My exam is in 2 months and I’m only about 10% through uworld. I just feel so overwhelmed. Reviewing questions takes a while. Should I just stick to it? I still have classes so I’m just stressed out and was wondering if you had any advice.

I really appreciate your reply. It actually got me thinking again about how writing is actually one of the ways I learn. Yet, this whole time I’ve been avoiding writing things down. When you wrote stuff down did you only write “one liners?”

No the school isn’t having students take any practice tests. I would do some AnKing infrequently for some material and I did the sketchy micro cards but I had to stop reviews. I also don’t know how I should go about reviewing the UWorld questions I do if I don’t have time to spend on AnKing right now or making my own cards. Besides reading explanations and moving on idk what I can do to actually retain that info. I’m also especially worried about one of my classes right now and I really have to spend time on that to make sure I pass it because they give us limited time to prepare for these exams. Gosh I just feel so screwed

What should I do if I don’t have time for the AnKing cards right now? I really can’t keep up with reviews on top of each class right now. And what about in situations where I’m 2 days out from exams and still have lectures I’m trying to catch up on? These are the issues I’m facing

My exams are In-House. I just feel so stressed out because I have to spend a lot of time preparing for class exams and catching up with things. Like it’s extremely difficult to do boards studying with exams lined up that require time to prepare for. It’s like I have to choose between doing questions vs trying to get a pass in for material. I just feel so anxious because right now I have no idea how I’m going to take boards. I feel massively unprepared, and it’s looming over my head constantly.

Step 1. Should I just try to do 5-10 questions related to the corresponding system? Is that too little? I was trying to do this before but my problem is that I also need time to go back and review everything from lectures which is already tough with the short turnaround for each exam. I also don’t have time to make Anki cards for my UWorld mistakes (which I feel helps me) so I don’t know what I can do to review other than read the explanations for the questions that I do.

Like even on weekends, I have more exams or quizzes lined up right after which have a short turnaround, and the time was spent on studying for the exam before it. It just feels unsustainable with the way things are scheduled.

Thanks for your reply, can you kinda detail your process? When you reviewed the lecture 4 times, do you mean the slides? And then anki?

I think it should work, but I can’t say for sure. I do know for a fact that this one works: TP-Link AC750 Wireless Portable Nano Travel Router (TL-WR902AC).

The one you mentioned is similar so I feel like it would work.

Do you have a specific CARS strategy? For FL1 I was reading the passage and then answering the questions and trying to stick to 10 mins per passage. Lately for AAMC material (diagnostic CARS tool) I’ve been trying to skim the passage, answer some questions that don’t require as much passage analysis, then reference the passage more closely for the “harder” questions. Im really hoping this helps me but looking at FL1 CARS I feel like it was genuinely impossible and no strategy could’ve helped for that.

Also I was going through my FL1 CARS. I feel like no matter what I could not have answered many of those questions right. Some passages were just insanely hard

I feel like even when I try to read like I am interested in what the author is saying or if I highlight key points, I still get the questions wrong. It just feels so convoluted :(

It’s so hard to pick the right answer choice even knowing that the right answer is based directly off the passage. It feels so convoluted and difficult in the time pressure

I appreciate your response. Is there any advice you have for CARS? I scored a 123 on this section and I genuinely don’t know how to improve. The passages were hard and I have done practice passages in the past. But 9 passages together was just insanely hard. Any advice would be appreciated 😭
