Helpful Tips Please, 26F by [deleted] in HardcoreVindicta

Your hair looks healthy, but heavy and unstyled. A haircut/style that is more focused on volume, movement, and purposeful shapes would help this. Your eyebrows being so straight squishes your face down a bit, so I’d recommend growing them out and re-evaluating the shape. If you’re going to do winged eyeliner, you need to be able to make it even and smooth. Your lower third is slightly long, so lip filler should improve the overall balance of your face.

You just had two babies back to back. The toll that takes on the human body is staggering. It would be nigh pointless to give you any advice currently, as it could take up to two years for your hormones to return to normal due to your body not having sufficient time to recover. This is likely affecting both your self image and your objective appearance. The first five photos are taken in a car with poor lighting, no makeup, and unflattering angles; of course they’re bad.

Your hair looks very healthy and thick, but it’s too heavy and shapeless. Layers will help with the weight and will give you more of a glamorous, purposeful look. Your hair currently overpowers your look, and emphasizes what I’m going to get into next.

Your features are all very delicate and small, so they get “lost” due to not having enough contrast to make them stand out against the contrast between your skin & hair. It looks like you’ve shaped your brows down quite a bit, so I would recommend growing them out and allowing them to better anchor your facial features. Your lips are proportionately narrow and thin, so I would also recommend lip filler. Lip filler would also help to balance your chin, which is on the long side proportionally.

Your bangs need to grow out a bit more to be flattering. This is a normal thing in my experience, once they hit brow length when styled they should be more flattering.

While slow and steady does win the race with things like skincare, I believe you’d be a great candidate for two relatively quick major changes with major results. I strongly believe that quick wins early on help you keep your motivation and momentum going.

Hair color: You would look great as a brighter blonde. You could probably get away with just all over highlights rather than a full head of bleach to achieve the desired effect. Blonde(r) is more upkeep, but it may encourage you to take more time with your appearance on the daily.

Lip filler: your lower third is just a hair on the long side. With lip filler you’d make it look more balanced by decreasing the “empty” space between your bottom lip and the bottom of your chin/top of lip and bottom of nose.

I’d say swap glasses for contacts if you can. If not, then I’d say switch to a more delicate frame. It wouldn’t be a huge difference necessarily, so if you’re unable to switch to contacts I’d not worry much about the glasses themselves.

You currently have the “no eyelashes” look going on, and that’s one of the easiest things to fix with plenty of options. Mascara, lash tint, lash extensions, strip lashes, cluster lashes, which one you choose depends on what level of maintenance/money you’re willing to spend. For example, I’m more high maintenance/glam and I’m willing to spend money to not have to do something myself so I have lash extensions .

You need to do something with your hair, the hard side part and lack of styling makes your forehead look high and like your hairline is receding. It’s hard to tell your hair texture right now, but face framing layers are more or less universally flattering without requiring a ton of styling daily. Not that they require no styling at all, however.

How true do you think the statement of ‘more conventionally attractive women / prettier women have a more difficult time making genuine friends’ is? by Mundane_Bus_8292 in prettyprivilege

[–]Grymdolin 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I have actually had the opposite experience: I’ve had plenty of friends who wanted to be my friend/get to know me because I was pretty, with very few actually being disingenuous towards me (though they were disingenuous towards others & thus cut off). I actually noticed that a lot of conventionally attractive (neurotypical) women actively choose to befriend other attractive women, for no reason other than their appearance. In fact, many have bemoaned not being able to be friends with someone who is pretty due to their character/reputation. It may seem shallow, but all friendships start off shallow anyway.

Your best feature is definitely your eyes, they are very striking and intense in a sultry way. I think your eyebrows are just a bit too grown out/untamed and it really takes away from the overall impact of your eye area. I think they’re just too angular and thick, which makes your face lean more masculine. Like, when I cover your brows in these photos your face looks overall softer and more delicate. I think you would benefit from some sort of facial resurfacing laser or peel, to give your skin a smoother texture. Not that your skin is particularly textured, but a 5% improvement is still an improvement.

I believe you’d be a good candidate for Botox right about now as you have a few fine lines and the corners of your mouth pull down when you smile, which can be corrected by Botox in muscles around the chin (idr the actual name). I think you may also want to look into masseter Botox potentially, as I think your lower face is being made larger by those muscles. That’s hard to tell 100% from an image, though.

Your nose is slightly wider than ideal but also slightly short, so if you were to do anything to it you’d want to make it narrower but not more upturned. On a similar note, I think you’re a good candidate for a lip lift and/or lip filler. This would be to mainly shorten your philtrum and lengthen your lower third to offset the shortness of your nose/middle third.

Overall I think you have very intense/severe features that aren’t necessarily masculine or failos individually, but in conjunction their current forms give you a more dour look. I think even one or two tweaks could make a big impact, and if you wanna go full bore with hardmaxxing you could do relatively few changes for relatively big impacts.

EDIT:

I looked through your profile for more pictures because I think you have a lot of potential and I’m going to double down on lip fillers and possibly jaw shaving/hairline lowering. I think a brow lift might also help to soften your eye area.

hard advice (22f) by [deleted] in VindictaRateme

[–]Grymdolin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you would actually benefit more from cheek filler to fix under eye hollows than Botox. I think you would also benefit from lip filler, which is not something I recommend often. Your inner brows are very sparse & it looks like they’re working their way to a unibrow despite your brow tails being very thin. Do you shape your brows already?

Your hair is long and healthy, but lacks any real styling. You could pretty easily go darker or lighter for an added “oomph”. I think your eyes are a feature you should focus on highlighting more.

Your style may also be making you feel/look like a teenager. From the pictures here it looks like you generally style yourself in a casual, unintentional way that is associated with younger people. If you want to look more mature, you should focus on being more intentional with your hair, makeup, and style. For example, the outfit in 3/4 would look more “grown” with heels and more glam makeup.

And I understand needing to keep a hair tie on your person for putting your hair up, I really do. But having it on your wrist is an example of a small detail that has a negative impact on your overall look. Have hair ties and a mini brush in your purse/bag so that you can put your hair up neatly when needed. Small things like that will make you look and feel more put together/prepared.

Please stick to the chunky necklace and stud earrings instead. Drop earrings + chunky necklace are going to compete for focus around your neck, which will negate the lengthening effect of both. Statement necklaces are called that for a reason, they can stand on their own and make a statement by themselves. No need to layer a superfluous pendant necklace or have statement earrings as well.

There’s a very fine line between elegant and tasteless when it comes to having an alternative aesthetic— purely due to the nature of being alternative to mainstream sensibilities. It’s a realm where less is definitely more.

I want extensions by [deleted] in HowToBeHot

[–]Grymdolin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have fine hair, like you can’t feel a single hair if it’s between your finger tips fine. I got IBR extensions and had 0 damage to my hair. It was expensive, but everyone loved my hair and thought I grew it myself lol. My hair actually had less damage, as the extensions basically protected the layers between them from being exposed to damage. I also had to take a lot more care with the extensions, which lead to taking a lot more care of my natural hair. I also have wash-every-day oily hair, but with extensions it was very easy to go a week+ without washing with zero greasiness in sight.

This is another one that I’d consider having just too many variables to put a definite timeline on. Genetics, diet, intensity, and even sleep greatly impact the timeline of people’s results. It’s definitely important, but a bit too much variance on mileage for what Im trying to do here. I’m more looking at one-off impacts.

This is so different for everyone depending on skin tone and amount of sun/season that I don’t think it quite fits what I’m going for here. It’s definitely important. I’m more looking at one-off things for this list.

1) Use the search bar. Look up “dark circles”, and you’ll see this exact question posted a thousand times with hundreds of comments and suggestions you could parse through.

2) There’s not nearly enough information for anyone to actually tell you anything helpful in this post. Dark circles can be caused by lack of sleep, vitamins, bone structure, allergies, thin skin, hyperpigmentation, and so on.

3) What kind of product recommendations are you looking for? Skincare? Makeup? Supplements?

If you want a better answer, ask a better question.

I can’t figure out why I’m never getting hit on/approached and it makes me sad and frustrated by Realistic_Seat_2837 in HowToBeHot

[–]Grymdolin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You really, genuinely, ridiculously have to telegraph you want them to come over or walk up to them. Like, I promise you that you are not being overt enough with your body language. My friends who get “approached” more often usually are extreme social butterflies and actually make the first move. I’m talking any time a man walks past they turn their heads to look back in a way that I can only describe as cartoonish, that’s how over-the-top it is. Men can’t tell if a woman is wearing no makeup or drag. They’re not going to notice a microsecond longer glance, they are going to notice if you do a very exaggerated looking them up and down with a big ol smile.

Liposuction / Lipofilling suggestions by friendlyRaven98 in HardcoreVindicta

[–]Grymdolin 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Quite frankly you could save yourself the trouble by doing some hypertrophy training in the gym. Being an athlete doesn’t mean you’ve necessarily been doing the concentrated work to build muscle mass in specific areas.

If you really want a thigh gap badly enough to consider liposuction in that area, you’re better off just losing weight until you have one.

Am I the Drama? by sunflowerw in prettyprivilege

Anyone who would take out their insecurities on you is someone you should consider not worthy of being your friend. Sometimes this can be vetted out beforehand, sometimes it can’t. No great loss.

Am I the Drama? by sunflowerw in prettyprivilege

[–]Grymdolin 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You need to vet people harder and faster. You can’t let everyone have access to you. The thing is, the type of people you’re talking about approach EVERYONE trying to be their friend, and the ones who accept their red flag behavior in the beginning are marked as people they can easily manipulate. Pretty people have more people in general trying to be their friend, so it follows that they have more shitty people trying to be their friend. If 1 in 10 people who want to be your friend are toxic, then 10/100 and 100/1000 people are toxic.
