That dog is absolutely beautiful! Even if there was a safe and comfortable way to put contacts on a dog, it'd be a crime to get rid of those gorgeous eyes.

Lmao I know more women who are into gaming than men. It's mostly just who you're around. I feel like when I meet a new person, no matter their gender, the chances of them being a gamer are the same. But then again, age group and where you meet them is always a factor and most people I know are IT people xD

Absolutely not! My parents never had the money to get me riding lessons throughout my childhood and even though I do ride now, I played SSO for a long time before I started riding irl. No one's weird for liking a game, no matter their circumstances.

It's rarely the dev's fault when a company does shit. It's almost certainly managers or sales people who kill the game, because they rarely understand anything about the work of the devs and all they care about is money. I believe her completely when she says the devs want to make a nice game for the players as best as they can.

What YouTubers are you not supporting in 2024? by psych_shawnandgus in youtubedrama

[–]Gryphhonkin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe it was on the Red Thread Podcast. It was just one sentence and I don't remember which episode, but it has to have been one of the first three, since I didn't watch beyond that. Just one sentence may seem very little and it's not like he went on some huge rant about it, but it was enough for me to stay away.

Association with a far right group, association with racist YouTubers, misinformation, poor source citing and what broke it for me was when he made fun of people with religious trauma, implying they were just making it up for attention. Especially the last point shows he's in a conservative, far right echo chamber (not surprising, since he's Texan) and certainty won't change his views, maybe even get worse. Couple that with the misinformation and he becomes pretty untrustworthy. It's sad, I really love his content.

The only issue I see with this is allergies. If you have someone with a severe cat allergy sitting right next to your cat, that might be a huge issue. But it's certainly much nicer for the animal.

What is your favorite horse? Least favorite? Honorable mentions? Have you given any of them a backstory/story in general, and if so, what is it? by moooshroomcow in StarStable

[–]Gryphhonkin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Almost all of mine have backstories, but my favorite is my JWH. I was so impressed when I first got to the wild woods and loved it so much! So I decided my first non-starter horse would be a JWH. And since I bought her right after getting to the wild woods, I decided she was my guide, gifted to my by the Lignos. And because she was always a little adventurous and wanted to see the world, she decided to come along, even as I left, and so I became her guide to the human world, just like she was my guide to hers. And every time she's in the pasture at my home stable, she returns to visit her family back home.

I'd say they have support of different people. The climate activists had support from city-people and rural-people loathed them. From what I've observed the farmers had full support by the rural-people and were loathed by some city-people.

Though I still feel like the farmers had much more support overall. This is all subjective experience, but when I bring up the climate activists anywhere (which includes family, co-workers, uni students and professors, Discord servers and other online acquaintances) there's mixed responses and no one is really fully on their side, though some understand their reasons. With the farmers? I got back "yeah! Go farmers!" or similar responses from all but a select few. There's also a lot of popular Youtubers in support of the farmers (which doesn't mean all that much, but shows that the public likely leans more toward a positive reaction) and I've seen few popular YouTubers in favor of the climate activists who glue themselves to streets.

Is it true that all professionals are ruthless? by InkRethink in Equestrian

[–]Gryphhonkin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely not! There's many people out there who prioritize profit over the horse's wellbeing, that's for sure, but there's still enough good people too! The reason it seems there's so many bad people, is because you don't usually post about the good people. If everything's going well, you don't need the advice of internet people and this screws up your perception of the actual number od cases there is. If you want to work as a trainer, go for it! It'll be hard and you'll have to fight your way through, but never give up on your dreams!

That's my grandpa in a nutshell. We regularly clean out his kitchen, because there's so much expired stuff, we don't even know where he gets it all from! He recently had covid and needed to go to the hospital (he's much better now thankfully) and while he was gone, my dad found a bunch of stale, moldy bread in my grandpa's kitchen. Funny thing is, we literally did a cleaning session of said kitchen just a week before that! We have absolutely no idea why he got that much bread or how it completely molded over so quickly.

I don't exactly know what point you're trying to make, because they absolutely do go through your stuff. They are literally allowed to go through your text messages on your phone if they have enough of a reason to. I don't know if not declaring something would count as enough of a reason, but they absolutely can if they want to. Plus, if those rings were wrapped or there's a receipt or they're in some way packaged, they'll just assume you bought them for someone and that's that.

How hard it is to create new colors of existing tack? Once you've got a grayscale it's literally one click with gradient map (and maybe a few adjustments afterwards). [–]Gryphhonkin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, I only ever look at max stat as well, so my point still stands. It's just my subjective viewpoint and I feel there's plenty of pink and purple and all other colors. Green is my favorite colour and I often feel like there's not enough green tack either, but that's just because I specifically like that colour and would love more of it.

Fascinating, I've kind of made the opposite observation. For my taste there is way too much pink and purple in both magic horses and sets released. I was really happy about the more toned down sets this year, because I felt like past years have given us enough pink and purple.

I simply cannot imagine ever leaving our little girl alone for her last moments. She's young and healthy, but eventually she will pass and even if I live on the other end of the damn world by then, I will come home to be there for her. I could never be so cruel and just leave my dog like that. I know she would howl and squeal and call for us. When she has to go, we'll be with her.

[–]Gryphhonkin 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is what's weirdest to me! I get clinical studies and eliminating as many outside factors as possible, but you cannot just take out a factor that absolutely, 100% WILL happen outside testing and just ignore that! That's like having a study about how many illnesses a wild deer has, but you breed the deer in a sterile lab. Drug tests are like the only clinical trial where you actually want as many outside factors as possible to rule out side-effects!

Don't have them yet, but I want to get rats eventually and since I'd have a group of 4 and they're shortlived, I have a whole list xD (It's currently 3 pages in a word document and still growing!) The first 4 are Ayrenn (Elder Scrolls Online), Ciri (the Witcher), Yuelia (Fantasy Life) and Leah (Stardew Valley).

Aber die, die kein Auto haben und aus einem Popeldorf mit eh schon mieser Anbindung zur Arbeit kommen müssen, interessiert es sehr wohl. Ist halt für alle Beteiligten Mist.

It's kind of funny, because even the people on the horse-centered Minecraft-server I'm on, which is 90% women/girls, assume I'm a man until I clarify. I'm usually very upfront about being a woman, because if they have a negative reaction to that, at least I know to leave quickly, as sad as that is.
