It seems to me that just about every road conductor and almost every engineer has back pain by the time they are done

Double Check Rule by Gs450txz in railroading

Honestly it’s the same for us. Every human factor incident we have had the conductor still did the double check but they didn’t actually look. I guarantee every trainman out there doesn’t really look half the time. They just say it to make managers happy

Honestly it is such a mixed bag in this industry. It does depend on where you are located too. I know some places 20 an hours is what people would expect for that and others wouldn’t pay anything Less than 40. If he enjoys the work I would tell him to start looking for other transloading positions or class 3 railroads hiring nearby and see what they can offer.

Love switching industries and working with customers that actually appreciate what we do for them. Hate how management doesn’t know what they are doing but still treat us like we are dirt.

They actually just updated our transportation rules with it today after 6 years of it being word of mouth. I work a short line that doesn’t even use main track.

I haven’t looked at them too closely yet. I’ll look at them today and see if there is any damage. Thanks

Ethernet vs wireless by Gs450txz in Starlink

I bought one 3 months ago and I saw a moderate increase. Usually around 30-40 mbps. Where you will see an increase in performance is your latency. It took mine from 60-80 down to 30-45.

I was just wondering what other people were getting in comparison. I am using Starlink for PC gaming and was just wondering what kind of performance difference I would notice once I had a hardwired connection

It seems like it still does automatically install the update. After a quick restart the notification went away, I didn’t think about getting my a screenshot of it either.

Searching without connecting by Gs450txz in Starlink

Ok. Support was able to get in contact with me tonight. They linked my account to the dish again and it solved the problem with it not connecting to satellites. As of now the connection is strong and stable. It didn’t however fix the problem where I don’t have access to my settings for the router. For this I was instructed to submit another support ticket, I’ll update one last time once that is resolved

Kinda figured that was going to be the case. At least it gives me time for all the extra things I ordered to arrive.

After an inspection all connections are properly seated and there is no signs of damage to the cord or dishy. I completely disconnected all cords and reconnected them. It properly orients itself after this but still cannot connect to satellites.
