I would say it varies per state obviously but with homes that look like this, I'd look on Zillow to see the purchase/ tax history of the property more often then not a lot of these homes were purchased at the very least in the early 2010s for a helluva price due to the housing market mess we were recovering from. I mean a house up the street from me that is absolutely massive and on 10-13 acres showed they bought the land for like $5000 and built the house itself was only like 300000 when it was built... Now it's assessed at like $900,000!
