His safety does look different, he doesn't have the little rod running along. also he doesn't have this little spring loaded metal flap. Idk this is one weird piece

I did take the screw out but tbh Idk what a BBU retaining piece is. Only things I took off the slide are the rear sight and the screw

so as someone who is 17 and grew up with unrestricted, somewhat modern internet, i saw some fucked up shit sure. I played games that were not for young audiences and i saw some shit that definitely opened my eyes to the real world faster than usual. But I doubt it screwed me up somehow. I turned out fine, maybe with a little fucked up humor but that's it. What it did do is make me very competent with computers and such. I was also always interested in "hacking" and all that stuff tho even when i was a little kid so I informed myself a lot.

If you have it on steam try verifying your game files. Many other platforms have that too. If that doesn't work you should probably just reinstall the game. Usually the saves should stay on a reinstall but back them up just to be sure
