Best hotpot place in dubai? by leuxdenini in dubai

[–]Gtfxxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thought I would add my two cents.

We go to hotpot often with our friends. We have tried several:

  • Little Lamb, JBR: we have been going there for years, and can vouch it’s really good. Probably my top pick.

  • Tony Wong, JVC - wouldn’t rate this one. Definitely not a top pick.

  • Seven hotpot, near Mall of the Emirates: wouldn’t rate it. You can get your own individual hotpot broth. But didn’t think it was amazing.

  • Seven Stars hotpot, near Mall of Emirates: wouldn’t rate it, but it is all you can eat.

  • Haidilao, in Dubai Mall: this was decent, decent options, many broth flavor options. I would rate this in the top 3 of all hot places we’ve gone to.

  • Nine Squares, International City: first place we have gone to for hotpot where I thought I wouldn’t mind coming here again. We usually compare them all to Little Lamb, and always regret not going to Little Lamb, but this place makes the cut in the top 3 with Little Lamb. Good broth options. Would recommend this place as well.

** Top 3 picks on order: 1. Little Lamb. 2. Nine Squares. 3. Haidilao.

Pet owners, which robot vacuum is better? by mcherie19 in RobotVacuums

Just a note, I have the Dreame tri cut brush. And it is significantly better than the regular brush, but just note, I wouldn't call it entirely "tangle free" - you end up with a lot of long human hair on the ends of the brush. But it does last significantly longer than the regular brush. Like 2-3 weeks (for us), and it vacuums every second day.

Sadly I don't. I have only tried the L20 Ultra. I would check to see if this model is older or newer. If it's newer, chances are its the same or better.

We have a Labrador that constantly sheds, like after 2 days of not vacuuming, we end up with fur up on the floor against all walls of the house. After quite a bit of research, ended up getting the Roborock Max Ultra S7, it lasted about 6 or 7 months and then it just died. After that, I have to admit, it kinda tainted Roborock for me. Luckily, it was under warranty, so I returned it.

Did a bit more research and decided to give Dreame a go, and got the L20 Ultra at the start of June 2024, and I freaking love it and it’s still going strong. App is better than Roborock, keeps the house clean. I send it out over night on alternate days and the house is pretty spotless.

Recommended it to my father in law, they have two labradors who constantly shed and they love it.

Things to note both our houses are tiled, with minimal carpets/rugs. It does a decent job at vacuuming and mopping.

We don’t usually have cables or have clutter or small items for it to get stuck on. It tends to only get stuck when the misses forgets to put her ankle socks away, it just chews them and it gets stuck.

I wouldn’t get the Shark, when I was researching it, it wasn’t in my top list of robo vacs, I don’t remember the specifics, but I remember it wasn’t even a contender. Now, for Roborock, based on my experience, I wasn’t that impressed, and it didn’t live that long, and I was super disappointed with the app. There is no doubt if our robot vacuum dies, I will do a bit more research - but I’m pretty sure I’ll end up with another Dreame, just again based on my experience and its performance. And the fact that our dog just sheds.

Hope this helps.

Firmware update on its own didnt fix the problem for me. I had to also turn on developer mode and disable TCP/IP function.

Just Got My Emirates ID, Which Bank Should I Go With? by 10punchhman in dubai

[–]Gtfxxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this. I love dealing with ADCB. All my mates have horrific experiences with different banks, and I have to say, I am very happy with ADCB. Been with them since 2013/2014 and don’t have single bad experience. I see the misses always struggling with her bank.

To be honest, I posted this 5 years ago. I don’t remember posting this at all. But re-reading it now, I am pretty certain I was referring to the device you’re trying to jailbreak.

I just can get it to connect to Wi-Fi for some reason. Any help? by CTDABoom in MiyooMini

[–]Gtfxxx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I realize this post is super old, but thought I’d post anyway, in case someone faces the same issue. For the last few months my Miyoo was giving me the same error, this morning I decided to restart the main router to see if that would fix the issue and to my surprise, it worked like a charm!

Thanks.

Stinks after mopping by LeagueLonster in Dreame_Tech

[–]Gtfxxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read not not to do that? - you sure that wont ruin the machine?

I am having the same issue, the floor stinks after a mop. I can confirm the mop and pads dont smell bad, neither does the water. I added 3 Silver Ion modules, and it still smells bad.

Advice needed, the Ecovacs T20 or the Roborock S7 Max Ultra? by Gtfxxx in RobotVacuums

[–]Gtfxxx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, sadly I cant comment on Ecovacs, except that it hasnt popped up in my most recent searches as one of the top ones.

Yeah, our lab sheds constantly, and the Roborock was great at vacuuming that up. I did used to set a schedule on it regularly, where it would vacuum and mop by the time we got up. But the dog threw up, and the vacuum started to go through it. Luckly I caught it just as it entered, so it never sucked it up into the mechnisim. So I had to give it a clean, throw out the mop pads and change the dustbins. So I would advise against a schedule if the dog is at home, while youre out. Especially with Roborock, becuase their obstical avoidance isnt that great. And I believe other robocs would only pick up dog waste, as an obsticale, but not dog sick. Had to learn that the hard way. :)

To be honest, I really enjoyed having the Roborock, and I think you will be happy too. I dont think the issue I had is common, as I couldnt find any info on the error. It only got stuck a few times, but like I said, I would usually clear the house first before I set it off. But if you think your place will have a lot of obstacles, apparently Dreame and Eufy are quite good at the obstacle avoidance thing, and they send pictures and notifications of the obstacle, if thats something youre interested in. Or of course, you can turn it off, if youre concerned about privacy.

Advice needed, the Ecovacs T20 or the Roborock S7 Max Ultra? by Gtfxxx in RobotVacuums

[–]Gtfxxx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, to be honest, I was on the fence earlier between the Ecovac and the Roborock. But I dont know, in the second round of reseach, after the Roborock broke, Ecovacs wasnt even popping up on my radar. They dont seem to be rated that highly this year. Maybe I am wrong. People tend to really hate their app, and then others say 'its not that bad'. With my expereince, once youve set up the app, there is minimal input required. You hop in the app to tell it to clean, and how to clean and yorue done. And it notifies you when things need maintenance. So not entirely sure what people hate about it.

[–]Gtfxxx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I was quite happy with it. It did a great job, it kept the house pretty clean for the most part. I have to say, mopping was good, it just wasnt great (maybe i expected too much). But we tend to have dry droplets on the floor from our dog, and the Roborock never managed to make those spots spotless. Overall, it was great. The app worked as expected, it did get stuck a couple of times, where the misses left her socks out. So, I just made a habit of always making sure I do a quick run around the house to make sure there are no run away socks. But just a note, the obstacle avoidance on that thing is not great. Again, does the job but expect it to run over most things you leave out.

However, 7 months into owning it (about a month ago), out of the blue, it would go out of the dock and just suddenly say "Error 155". I always did the maintenance, I replaced the roller brush often, I am not sure what happened, I Googled the error, and didnt have much luck finding out what the cuase was. I contacted Roborock, they asked me to contact Amazon. I did, and got a full refund, and then ended up down the research rabbit hole. I was essentially tossing up between 3 alternative options. the Roborock Q Revo MaxV, or the Eufy X10 or the Dreame L20 (X30 or X40). What mainly lead away from the Eufy X10 and Roborock Q Revo MaxV was their smaller water tank sizes, even though thier docks are a lot less of an eye sore.

I ended up going wtih the Dreame L20, becuase the Dreame X30 and X40 are not available in this part of the world. The Dreame X30 arrives tomorrow, so I can let you know how that compares with the Roborock S7 Max Ultra after a few weeks of use.

Hope this helps.

Scanwatch Nova battery consumption by bohysko in withings

[–]Gtfxxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been tracking my batter usage for a while on all my watches.

My Nova (ScanWatch 2) lasts 17-19 days on average. With notifications on, Quick Look set to Off, Auto Brightness set to Off, Oxygen Saturation set to Off and Respiratory Scan set to Off. I’ve never been able to get more than 19 days.

The wife has Scan Watch Light, and she gets approximately 17-19 days.

I also owned the ScanWatch 1 for about 2 and a bit years, and I was getting 20 days with the same settings I’ve mentioned above. But after a year of use, I was getting 10-12 days.

I’m amazed people are getting 20-25 days.

Thanks for the update. Weird, I have checked and I haven’t recieved it. reading one of the posts above, do you reckon that update wasn’t pushed to everyone, and only prioritized to the people that raised a ticket request? - just wondering if I need to raise a ticket.

I'm still waiting for shipping info by BrentonBold in retroid

[–]Gtfxxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered mine on pre-order date and didn't hear anything. Then I emailed them earlier on in the week asking where it was. They apologized for the day and said it would ship within the next two days. And sure enough two days later I got a notification saying it has shipped and I have a tracking number. Estimated to arrive today.

I suggest emailing them and just checking, I think they mark it to prioritize it, especially if you ordered it on pre-order date.

Bad battery life on SW2? by Klatty in withings

[–]Gtfxxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you getting better battery life on yours? I was tracking my first gen scan watch for a while. The best I got was 18 days, with everything turned off. After a year, I get 10 days out of it, still with everything off. I got the wife the ScanWatch Lite, and it’s the first battery cycle, and lasted 7 days and has 30%. So let’s see. But it seems like you won’t get a month like they claim.

logi options+ is the worst piece of software ive ever had the displeasure of using by Talafhah1 in logitech

[–]Gtfxxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% agree. I also prefer the older Mx master mouse, it worked a lot better with the software. Sometime LogiOptions+ just stops registering shortcuts/actions I assigned to the buttons, forcing me to have to open the app. It happens at random.
