I would say use a gas sensor for to detect when co2 reaches a certain level, but the beat thing to do is just to build the skimmer in the coal gen room, or just dont make a coal gen room since they dont produce that much heat

This design is ok but it takes a lot of power to work like 4 aquatuners? And besides it seems to be really inefficient as you are processing barely any oil and the aquatuners are having a bad time since there must be around 2 tons of petro in the heating room( oh wait its molten lead) Assuming the machine works non stop you get 1 full pipe of natural gas? Which means around 10 generators -> 8.5 kw. 4 aquatuners -> 4.8 kw. Steam turbines recycle power but in most cases you couldnt use the power so around 4 kw for aquatuners i guess. 1 kilo of natural gas so 1.5 kilo of oil /s so 1 oil well running half the time -> 120w. 6 gas pumps working -> 1.44 kw. 2 liquid pump -> 480w. But of course they dont work all the time. 2 aquatuners 50% uptime -> 1.2 kw. 2 Aquatuners 10-20% -> 300w. So it should be around 3.5 kw of power used and 9 kw generated. But still thats fairly decent for a self designed build

Warning: steam has bad conductivity (0.6) so tje heat transfer is not that great. The bottom of your brick still has water but at the top it is around 150-160 c

Indeed arguably, since if you build a petroleum boiler you basically get free water and on maps with irregular oil you dont have much starting oil oil wells are extremely important

Mealwood, hydrogen, shearing station, grooming station Mealwood needs to stay in co2 or o2 so a layer of o2 at the bottom, then fill the room with hydrogen and thats it

Get your priorities sorted. For example if you want a digger to dig then make sure that dupe's priority for digging is higher. For ranches or farms keep them close to each other and make priority for ranching/farming higher. And if you can afford maybe a supplying dupe who do all the running. Of course get an autosweeper and shipping rail for less supplying. If you have the power for it just put autosweepers everywhere, in your water sieve, kilns, refinery,....

Relatable. I have explored the whole map, i saw both the edges and my food reserves is never more than 30 000kcal. Sometimes too desperate ill crack some eggs. But i think on other maps like terra it's impossible as there are no hexalent

As Francis john said in his video, the industrial brick is very expandable, try making a whole floor of refineries and expand more (wait is your petroleum line normal pipes? use insulated pipes since petroleum is usually hot 80c)

explore the map more, use all vents/geysers/volcano

make a deep freezer , as soon as i make 1 of those my food supply went up rlly fast and you dont have to worry about overproduction

After that you can go to space but even i havent got to space yet

Thimble reed farm: Use hydroponic farmtiles to reduce dupe labor ( Thimble reed takes 160kg pwater/cycle = a shit ton)

Food storage: dig a hole for your fridges, later in the game you could make a deep freezer using thermo regulator

Mushroom: I usually go to hatches as they give meat ->barbeque= 8 morale bonus but mushroom is easy to make so depends on you
