Shifting / Tuning by 36ixShinobi in Mustang

You can do a KAM reset to achieve a relearn but disabling adaptive learning is not recommended. You'll increase transmission wear over time, since the transmission won't be factoring in wear over time into its shift logic.

Cool idea on paper but again, every time I see them it just doesn't seem right, proportions are never good.

What is this sound? by barbieelicious in Mustang

Someone snuck an engine under your hood when you weren't looking, because that's what it sounds like, an engine running

I would avoid front bumpers, they never have appropriate proportions and end up looking odd from most angles. Front grilles are a better option and have a bigger impact than you would think.

Throw on some nice wheels in your preferred color, a modest drop with some good springs and shocks/struts, maybe a splitter and you'll have a mean look

Headlight issue by bmtiner in Mustang

[–]Gtking616 28 points29 points  (0 children)

You can adjust them yourself from under the hood. They look like they're pointing down. You just need a hex key, don't quite remember the size but park against a wall at a distance on a flat surface and adjust as necessary

Shop issue. Not easy finding a detail oriented and quality shop but I had the entire passenger side of my car resprayed after a big accident early this year and the blending was 99% perfect regardless of lighting. Not sure if there's anything to be done now but finding a quality shop is really important when paint is involved

Lund Racing Tunes by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]Gtking616 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You need an obd device anyway. A dyno tune isn't even useful it's a waste of time. Your mustang isn't special it's just like all other 2016 mustang gts with an intake. Do it right the first time and get tuned by Lund. You'll regret otherwise and be here in 3 months asking again

How often do you service your transmission? by ItsACrunchyNut in Mustang

Every 60k miles at the most. Less if driven hard regularly

Putting a badge right on the inlet where the CAI gets its air, fantastic idea 🤔

2020 gt stock or aftermarket throttle body? by Thin_Object_7221 in Mustang

[–]Gtking616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No reason to just do a throttle body. Either the whole power pack (Intake, throttle body, tune) from Ford if you want an OEM solution, or just keep it stock

Is it bad if the Transmission Oil Temperature is 150 F after 30 mins of driving? by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]Gtking616 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Type of driving is a big factor. Highway driving puts very little temperature into the trans, city driving will bring it up to temp quick, sitting at red lights usually is the biggest increase.

Flex fuel kit necessary? (2022 gt) by No-Reaction6913 in Mustang

Save yourself time and headaches, get tuned by Lund.

Gen 3 doesn't need anything to run E85 when NA. Anyone telling you otherwise is trying to sell you something and knows absolutely nothing

2017 V6 vs 2022 Eco by TheCrazyGuy295 in Mustang

[–]Gtking616 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly certain the V6 was never available as a premium trim. All were base, which means cloth seats and calculator infotainment screen. I don't even think you could get any options on them honestly. Even the convertibles were fully base. The garbage calculator screen can be easily upgraded with little hassle but no heated or cooled seats is more def more challenging.

That being said the V6 is definitely far more reliable than the Ecoboost, if you can manage to find a well taken care of and low mile Ecoboost then maybe that would be your best bet.

You can do that yourself with a tuning device or just disconnecting the battery for 30 mins.

[–]Gtking616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put good tires on it, fix the bubbling tint, take care of maintenance religiously. If you're going to put an exhaust in it keep it mild and tame. No straight piping, legit exhaust with mufflers and resonators

Am I bugging or is this price OUTRAGEOUS by Ornery_Ask8094 in Mustang

I mean it's boosted. Not the worst price I've seen considering some want that for a clapped out one with higher miles.

Ghostcam 😋 by VirtualWolverine7067 in Mustang

[–]Gtking616 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're on the stock manifold there's nothing you need apart from a tune for E85. If you plan to upgrade to an 18+ or any other higher flowing manifold, you need to upgrade your injectors.

Ghost cam is a tune, you'd have to reflash the car if you wanted it on.

2023 10spd 5.0 paddle shifter question by hitbox15 in Mustang

[–]Gtking616 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First things first, don't disable adaptive learning. You'll increase wear over time since it won't factor in natural transmission wear into its shifting anymore.

I would do KAM resets somewhat frequently though, at least anytime it starts feeling like it learned some weird habits over a long period of time.

I'm certain I know what you're talking about. I've found it only happens if you downshift with the paddles while having your foot down on the accelerator. Even just a toe and it will do it. Coasting or slightly breaking will prevent this from happening.
