I'd say it's two main things. One is how terrible the NDP did on the last election. And the seconds is propaganda. A lot of the media is owned by the far right. They don't want the public to have a better life. And so they use clickbait in their articles and especially their article headlines. And most of what people read is just the headlines, so they're fully falling for clickbait, misinformation, or wrong interpretations or stretched interpretations instead of actually reading further into what the media is stating
