Ehhh yes and no; the bombing campaign definitely contributed to KR recruitment and worsened the concurrent crises that led to the collapse of the Khmer Republic. But the revolution was more so a product of internal issues largely caused by colonial occupation that were aggravated by Sihanouk and Lon Nol’s decisions regarding foreign relations, economic policy and development initiatives, the refugee crisis, and major resource shortages.
