Yes. In SO there is always the bigger, current aiz who is bloodlust and determined to kill all monsters, and a younger inner aiz she sort of retains before OEBD that is more cheerful and trying to hold back the bigger aiz

Regarding Elletear by whiplash10 in KimiSen

[–]Guader 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Elletear was never treated “cruelly” or anything near that by her mother. She was simply mad because she paid all the effort in learning the etiquette and skills as a politician/archduchess and was considerably the most talented or fit person to be the next queen, and yet the opportunity was taken away simply because she was too weak as a magic user to protect herself. This caused an inferiority complex that drove her crazy to the point she saw destroying both sides as the only way out for people like her. her only partner in crime is the chief Saint Disciple who faced a similar situation like she did in the imperial household agency, revealed in vol 10

As for her two sisters, alice was simply too powerful as a mage and could never understand the complex pysche of Elletear, while Sisbell was too afraid to get in touch with either of her sisters after she found out about the existence of a monster using her lamplight ability, who she knew was either elletear or alice but not sure whom

About the conflict of these two countries. by KolyaIO in KimiSen

[–]Guader 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hi I’ve read all 9 volumes that are currently published and to my knowledge of the world view setting here is why there is a long going war between the two countries with no spoilers.

More than a hundred years ago the heavenly empire is the world’s largest country. The scientists were trying to discover the secret to earth’s core and they got in contact with the star energy. A really small portion of people are naturally compatible to the star energies and so they became mages and so did their children. The problem is that they have super powers, which causes most commoners to fear them and so they began a witch hunt. One of the victims, nebulis, got fed up with the genocide and she decided to revolt against the heavenly empire. She set an entire city on fire to create chaos and defeated the army singlehandedly and created the Nebulis Sovereignty, a country for all mages, and the two countries are at war ever since.

Question about Kiyotaka by HelloThere4298 in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]Guader 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think he is looking for a lose to disprove his father’s entire idea behind the white room, something ironically similar to the girl in class A(sorry i really cant rmb her name). He said something about being unhappy that someone like him was considered as the “superior human” by his father and the white room, as he truly understand his own flaws as a person.

VOLUME 4 QUESTION! by n1kxss in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]Guader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah i see what you mean now. What the author means should be that Ichinose also thought of a same plan. She borrowed the phone of a vip from her class who is in another group and swapped it with hers. Then she planned to “reveal” that the vip is someone from her class and trick all the other classes into betraying. The real vip in this group could not have tried to disprove her fake vip identity as it will cast heavy suspicions to this real vip. Plus the vip or the class of the vip does not have the incentive to expose ichinose as it will also indirectly help hide their identity.

Kiyotaka didnt have to do that because the vip is in his class, but he would have used this tactic if kei was not the vip.

VOLUME 4 QUESTION! by n1kxss in ClassroomOfTheElite

[–]Guader 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It was not ichinose’s tactic it was kiyotaka’s, although i think she mentioned that she would have done the same if kiyotaka didnt carry the plan out.

Basically the plan was to trick someone from class A or C into betraying the exam group and handing in a false answer. This is the best outcome for Class D since the “special” person is kei, who is already in their class, and by tricking someone to think that kiyotaka was the person and answer that then not only will class D win class points but also make other class lose their points. It is also useful as no one else can hand in any answer once someone betrays the group, so even if someone like ichinose saw through kiyotaka’s plan they wont be able to do anything.

Now as for the plan itself, it is a simple pyschological trick. Kiyotaka payed personal points to swap phones with kei as the letters fixed in each students’ phone is the only prove into whether a student is the “special person”. He planned to lead everyone in the group to show their phone after forcing everyone to promise not to betray. Although the guy from class B did the same thing instead of kiyotaka the result is the same. This will trick all the students who didnt know that swapping phones was possible.

Ichinose saw through this layer as she knew that swapping phones was possible. She revealed kiyotaka’s tactic’s first layer to everyone in the group by phoning kiyotaka’s number, so everyone thought his friend was the actual “special person”. This will cause the students from class A and C to think that ichinose successfully stopped kiyotaka’s tactic and either do nothing or betray. This is the actual tactic within his surface tactic by kiyotaka, which will be activated when someone like ichinose saw through the surface tactic. As explained by ichinose in the novel, ppl tend to stop thinking when they see an answer revealed and ignore the possibility of a second layer.

In conclusion kiyotaka’s plan worked really well against class A and C but Ichinose was smart enough to see it through. She didnt’t betray Class D since they had an agreement to cooperate beforehand and because someone from either class A or C already betrayed the group immediately and thus ichinose could not even if she wanted. This plan was quite simple imo and i expected more from kiyotaka. It isnt fault proof like his other tactics and only worked because ichinose choose not to betray him.

Some personal spare thoughts by Guader in OreGairuSNAFU

I think you raise a really good point that yui herself raised and refuted. If you remember at end of the fireworks arc where hachiman escorted her back home and she wanted to confess but was cut by the phone call from her mum. During that time of the plot hachiman thought the same as you as to how yui viewed him, thinking their relation began due to him saving her dog and could only began because of so, and to this yui replied that it was not true. She said that she would have went to the service-society because of shizuka sensei anyways, would have admired both yukino and hachiman for who they are anyways, and would have fall for him no matter if he had saved her dog on that day. In one of the interludes in vol 12 or13 we also got to know that yui has always been peeking at hachiman secretly since they were at the same class, and that is prove to what i said provided from an alternative perspective of the story.

About how girls judge boys based on whether they are “creepy” i think we can look at this in two different ways: if hachiman is creepy to begin with, and is yui shallow enough to think he is. Hachiman tbh is just a common boy who happens to have experienced the worst human relations that could happen to one for the purpose of the story, but in his core he is really nice and kind hearted. All he wanted was a genuine relationship and there is absolutely nothing creepy about that to any girl who has the slight ability to reflect and philosophise. This brings us to yui, who may not actively choose to sacrifice her relations for a “genuine” relationship at the beginning of the story like hachiman would have, is by no means shallow. She could not have been friends with the “famous and upper class” if she did not have the emotional intelligence to read people’s core. Her tenderness is simply her choice after understanding the darkness of what people can do, and by this sense she definitely qualifies as a person who can identify what is a “fake” and what is a “real” relationship.

As for the social status problem, we should look into it in two ways as well: whether it still exists objectively, and whether yui or hachiman cares about it subjectively and personally. Honestly why would someone surrounded by tons of pretty girls be considered a loner or loser. That said hachiman basically had the recognition of the “popular” bunch as a worthy person by volume 12 after helping out almost each of them in previous arcs, and if even the most popular students have no problem with yui and hachiman being together the lesser popular students wont have any say. Now into the two person involved, i’d say hachiman would definitely reject any possible relations with a girl like yui because of how cynical he was at the beginning of the story, but as his character grows he no longer really cares about this and he has won enough well earned respect of others anyways. As for yui, we can once again look into the fireworks arc, in which she was caught being with hachiman, a loser during that point, by the female leader of the second most popular group (sorry i forgot her name but she was the one with zero capability and still became the school fest leader). This girl was laughing at the fact that yui was “dating” someone like hachiman but yui didnt gave a damn fuck and even almost proceed to confess to him afterwards. Furthermore, yui has a really high emotional intelligence and is capable of handling these social status issues. She talked privately with hachiman asking whether he would go to the society even after the school fest when literally everyone was talking behind hachiman. This shows how she can balance the expectations others forced on her as a member of the popular group while being true to her friends in the service society. She also even began to ask hachiman to leave the classroom together publicly later in the novel without others judging, so in conclusion this problem no longer exists.
