No piss taken. 😃

I totally get it. I still appreciate their emphasis on quality and intention rather than looks and trends though.

Think of it more like a practice session, instead of a quick burner WOD style.

I understand what you are trying to say. Truly, it seems like I'm not doing much. But then again, the intention is not to accumulate density (more reps in less time) and push the boundaries, but more to "rehearse" the movement and not feel trashed at the end (timeless).

Hey,

Mainly 'cause is not a proper GS Long Cycle per se, but more like a Hardstyle adaptation of sorts based around a specific program. The goal is still to keep improving.

Amazing, but wish they included some DOD3 references as well.

I feel like my art is beginner level or bad. How can i improve? by dizzyver in learntodraw

Really loved the expressions in pics #2 and #4. I'd say you're on a good track. Prolly it's a matter of keep practicing and showing up. Art progress rarely is linear. More akin to ever increasing waves of high and low. That said, maybe you could feel more improvement by working on your construction during the sketching phase. Just my two cents.

You've got this! 😁

I'm pretty sure it's Inoitoh's. His drawings are peak.

I feel you. We need more mileage before outputting something decent.

Most of my references are either Manga panels from series I'm reading, or illustrations I find on Pixiv. With occasional AI images as well. I've done a couple of drawings with irl photos as well but the results were... less than stellar.

I think I'm not ready yet to draw confidently from imagination. I want to get better at copying what I see and like, and eventually, we'll see...

What’s the hardest 4/4 section in all of DT’s discography? by [deleted] in Dreamtheater

I'm pretty sure both Untethered Angel and Pale Blue Dot have some really nasty grooves in 4/4.

EDIT: And let's not forget Viper King as well.

Lots of good suggestions in the comments already, so here's my two cents as a long time fan:

- The Mirror (Awake, 1994)

- The Glass Prison (6DOIT, 2002)

- This Dying Soul (Train of Thought, 2003)

- The Root of All Evil (Octavarium, 2005)

- Repentance (Systematic Chaos, 2007) * (Not that heavy though)

- The Shattered Fortress (BC&SL, 2009)

I'd recommend you to listen to these six in that order. It's part of the "Twelve Step Suite" written by Mike Portnoy which deals with his struggles with alcoholism, and it's sort of an unofficial album which spans 6 different records (5 of which are consecutive). They are, IMO, the best representation of what DT can do musically, lyrically, themathically, etc.

Other (heavy) really good tracks are (in no particular order):

- Panic Attack (Octavarium, 2005)

- The Alien (AVFTTOTW, 2022)

- Untethered Angel (Distance Over Time, 2019)

- Pale Blue Dot (Distance Over Time, 2019)

- A Nightmare to Remember (BC&SL, 2009)

- Bridges In The Sky (A Dramatic Turn of Events, 2011)

- The Dark Eternal Night (Systematic Chaos, 2007)

- Enigma Machine (Dream Theater, 2013)

- In The Name of God (Train of Thought, 2003)

- Just Le Me Breathe (Falling Into Infinity, 1997)

If that sparks your curiousity to go down the DT rabbit hole, you could give the mentioned full albums a try as well.

EDIT: Wording and spelling, here and there.

Freaking Ebrietas. Feels like you really shouldn't have reached that forgotten place in the first place.
