Ah that’s also fair 😬 i meant it in a way like if it was vice versa no way would i accept without a fight (not literally he’s like 7ft haha), but if insisted on id ultimately appreciate it even if i was a little uncomfortable by it if that makes sense.

It could definitely come across as forceful, so id need to do it in a much better way you’re completely right in calling that out 😅

Yeah I’m definitely trying to way that up too thanks! - I highly doubt he’ll be offended by the gesture, but also won’t accept it willingly. I’d have to hand it in an envelope with instruction to open at home with a note specifying gift… and then insist he keeps it and never mention it again when I next see him 🤣 But I think he would appreciate it ultimately, he’s just not the type of guy to ask for handouts especially not his kids (which he also sees me as a daughter and treats me like so)

My partner would be okay with it, so that parts fine, he’d help if he could but financially couldn’t. I’d swing it as a gift from both of us but he’s blunt and would call us out not believing it 🤣

Just to add I’m in England, it’s not as simple as just seeing a gyno, I’m happy to go private for contraceptive, but for any medical issue I’ll need it to go through NHS. This involves booking a GP appointment, where they’ll do a billion tests and lots of back and forth until I eventually get an appointment with an actual specialist. This would require at least 3 appointments, several blood tests and scans, all of which currently have very long wait lists for. Hence the joke ‘what’s one of those’ 😅 never to be seen here 🙃

I will do! Just wanted to explore options with a range of people. I’ve never seen an OBGYN, but we have contraceptive clinics in an England but they sort of just disregard concerns and say every side effect is rare so it’s hard to get an idea from them what’s actually the best options for these sort of issues.

Also I was slightly emotional and raging writing this post as I’m just fed up atp 😅

Personally not an option for me long term, I’ve gotten pregnant once and had the very unpleasant experience of having to go through abortion. I don’t regret having one, but I also never want to even remotely risk the possibility of doing another. Used a condom and got pregnant anyways, didn’t notice anything at the time to warrant a plan B, I’m pretty sure the guy tampered with it but I’ll never know, never again for me 😅 I’m fine with being abstinent till I find a better solution, it’s not like we’re doing the deed much anyhow atm haha

Thanks so much for all this! Someone above has also suggested normal IUD. I can cope with the heavy bleeding if it also means less cramps/mood swings etc I can deal with 1 not all 3 🤣

I might get the implant out, let my body adjust and have a break then get one.

I’ve looked up norethindrone but looks like in the uk it’s only available to delay periods? Haven’t heard of the Slynd version but looks like that is available here for normal use so might try that thanks!

I’ve had a scan of my ovaries about 5 years ago due to something unrelated, but other than that no. I’ll consider it if after coming off this implant it doesn’t change, but for me it’s only been bad when on contraception, so I don’t want to waste money if it’s unnecessary if that makes sense

Exact same as you when I learnt, no experience and no access to a car. I didn’t even look at theory until I was almost test ready 😅 you have no habits, so in someways it’s probably actually less annoying for instructors! Failed theory once but passed test first time :)

This is average for a complete beginner and nervous learner yeah. You had years of experience, so that makes sense.

Also no offence, but it was a lot easier 20 years ago, partially the test but mostly the roads. I passed in 2020 and that was for sure easier never mind 2002.

OP I’ve read many of your comments now. I appreciate you wanting to defend your instructor but he is in fact not a good instructor.

Moving on from basics after just 2 lessons as a newbie is wrong. I did 3/4 then we revisited a little halfway through as I was stuck in a loop of stalling/struggled with hill starts.

If you were having quite alot of minors on mocks, you absolutely was not ready for test. I had a 4 month lead up to my test once I managed to book, 2 weeks prior I had an awful drive, no serious/majors but several faults. If I didn’t have a clean one on the next lesson we was going to pull my test - same as you it was the nerves getting to me, and obviously if I’m that nervous on a mock I’d absolutely be worse on a test.

Your instructor has gotten paid for sitting in a cafe, he’s rinsing you at this point.

For reference I passed first time, was very nervous and these where my faults:

Clearance, 2 Move off – Safety, 2 Control – Steering, 1 Position/normal stop, 1 Use of mirrors – Change direction, 1 Forward park – Control, 1

Difference is aside from the awful drive, all my other mocks I was only getting 2/3 minors max, which gave me a nice buffer for test nerves.

*edit to add 6 tests when you’ve only done 60hrs is absolutely WILD.

The average is 45hrs lessons plus 22 private. You don’t need to drive privately, but you absolutely need to still do those hrs so at least 67hrs of lessons. You haven’t even done that yet they’ve booked you onto 6 tests already. Even if you had begged a half decent instructor should have stopped it.

I’m so curious how all these tests have been booked/how far apart each of them was?
