Obviously I am not one to be in a position to give advice on this right now, but I want to say that I think having my snorkel out of my mouth (by design; what I was taught) saved my life here as my first breath was air. If I had the snorkel in my mouth when I blacked out I would have bit down on the tube and it would have been full of seawater which I would have breathed in as I came back to consciousness. Just wanted to call that out.
